Hey guys! My wife is in Ankara Turkey and completed her VISA Interview today. She passed her interview and her VISA is READY. No Ap. No waiting.

But they will not issue the VISA to her!!!!

They said that they are missing ONE thing...

They said they need her to take her Iranian Birth Certificate and have MY name (her husband) put in the birth certificate.

The Iranian Embassy is stating that the only way they will do that is if the husband has an Iranian Birth certificate as well.

Heres my problem... Im not Iranian and the time frame required to sign up for a birth certificate takes about 8 months per the Embassy.

Did the USA Embassy ask for this paper by mistake? Maybe they thought we had an Iranian Marriage?

Here are the important details:

*We got married in Istanbul, Turkey last November 25th, 2011.

*I (husband) is NOT iranian and I have no form of ANY Iranian documentation.

*we did NOT have an Iranian marriage, it was a Turkish marriage.

So after all that said what are supposed to do now?

Should she go to the USA embassy and explain the situation and see if they are asking for this paper in error thinking about the husband is Iranian and that we had an Iranian marriage?

Should she go in there and explain that the paper they are asking for is pretty much impossible to get?

PLEASE HELP I have no idea what to do!!!!!

Thanks :(

I can't believe we are SO close but it feels like SO far away.

Hi, I think you should call the DOS Office and explain everything to them, they should be able to help you out... here is their phone number in case you don't have it.... 202-663-1225

Good Luck,

Sherry

Ok I called the DOS office and explained the situation to the lady on the phone... She listened to me but really didn't seem to care...

I told her the entire situation and she said that she can't do anything about it and that my wife needs to go to the USA embassy and explain the situation to them.

I REALLY hope the USA embassy understands and waives the need for that paper.

I mean it makes no sense. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is perfect except for this. Its the only thing keeping her from literally getting her visa and flying to Dallas, TX.

She's literally stuck in Turkey until at least monday so she can go explain to the USA embassy the problem.

My lawyer also emailed the Ankara Embassy explaining the situation.

The embassy is asking for a paper that is 100% IMPOSSIBLE to get.

Ill update this post monday.

Any other advice is appreciated.
