Hello to all, I'm new to all this and I'm trying to stay positive and optimistic about our process. We recently filed our I129f form for the K1 visa, our case was forwarded to Vermont  . And well... honestly some of the experiences posted about cases similar to ours are scary as heck! :crying: I keep reading about how slow VSC is, and how mean they can be at the Guayaquil Consulate (we're a US - Ecuador couple). I know the journey is long and this is honestly the most difficult thing I've gone through, because our lives and our love are gonna be judged by someone else :crying: . And it's up to them to determine if it's real or not, when we KNOW we love each other and it's true... So bottom line, I'd like to get some positive reinforcement from you guys... how do you survive all this?! i don't wanna be so anxious and desperate all the time but... it's seriously a nerve racking situation... please help me and thank you. And to all those who are finishing their journey, congratulations, your stories are inspiring

Congrats! Dont worry things can change. Its so weird how different are things now, I remember when my now hubby and I submitted my k1 petition on septmber 2011 and everybody prayed to have vermont as service center. The quickest approvals I saw ( 77 days, 90 days), belong to Vermont. My case took only 120 days (4 month). California was so freaking slowly, now they trade. Hoping you guys have a smooth journey, dont worry and be optimistic :)

from a fellow us-ecuador couple - hang in there, all will be well! Yes, it is a long process, but stay positive and while you wait be sure to continue to collect evidence of your relationship to bring with you to the consulate when you finally get your interview. I know it's almost impossible not to stress out during the wait (it took a really long time for our K-1 app to be processed and I totally obsessed over it) but try as much as possible to just breathe. :-) I recommend reading through reports of others at the Guayaquil consulate and be prepared. Good luck to you!
