I was having a conversation today with a fellow vj and I was thinking, how to work in the US after the EAD. I mean our degrees are recognized in Europe countries as part of the EU. What about the US? I couldn't find anything on the Internet it was all so confusing so I thought I will ask here with the nice vjs from Europe :)

For example, I have a diploma in engineering and I would like to work later as an engineer in the US after the AoS and EAD. I got my degrees translatedand certified,I got experience and written letters from my employers. Will my skills or my field of study be recognized in the us or validated? D I need to present something else? Someone told me that I have to give exams again.

It helps to have the foreign degree evaluated but not necessary, depends on what you studied and where you went to school and the kind of job you are applying.

Some high-end engineer positions may require a professional engineer license.

You may look at the FE (fundamentals of engineering) exam and PE (professional engineering) exam.

http://www.ncees.org

There are different requirements based on your degree and experience level. I know that for my case, with a master degree in Engineering, I have to pass FE exam, then with 4 years of professional experience I can take the PE exam and become registered as professional engineer in the state I live in.

Licensed professional engineers are permitted to sign, seal and stamp technical documents and etc.
