Hi,

that means our papers are still with NVC? Is that what they mean? ohh I am again worried. That means they will update it in the first week of November?

Don't worry NVC will send your paper on time to consulate. If NVC schedule your date then you should complete the pending formalities and attained the Interview on time.

Best of Luck

I posted my question on MUmbai Consulate page regsrding missing Case numbers and date, they told me that they have posted all cases for which they have received file from NVC, so we all missing folks need to contact NVC and ask them when they are going to send our file to consulate.

following is the answer from consulate:

Dear Mr. Gupta:

Thank you for your question. We are happy to know that your petition for a CR-1 visa will be received by the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai for consular processing.

When the priority dates of immigrant visa applications become current, the National Visa Center schedules immigrant visa appointments and sends the files to us for consular processing. At this time, we have received files only for those immigrant visa beneficiaries whose case numbers and appointment slots are listed on our website for November 2012. If you do not find your case number in the list at this time at http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/interview_appt_schedule.html, please review our website in early November for more updates. In the meantime, please make sure that you have all the documents ready for the interview. We wish you luck for your upcoming interview, and look forward to seeing you at the Consulate soon.

Hi,

Greetings!

As you suggested to call NVC regarding missing case # and about the paperworks, I tried to do that but in vain and the automated voice says that the customer care is busy and not able to take calls right now. And my Husband went somewhere for his office work so he will not be able to make calls from there as well, so I sent NVC a mail but they will respond according to the queue. Let me know if you call them so that I can get a sigh of relief. If NVC responds to my mail then I will paste the extract accordingly.

Regards,

Payal

Hi,

Just wondering the validity of PCC from Passport office since I made it on June 07 and I came to know from the Mumbai consulate P4 information that " Indian citizens residing in India for six months or more since turning 16 years of age must present Indian police clearance certificates from the local area passport office. This certificate is valid for one year from the date of issuance". So that means it is valid for one year right? Are we in the safe zone as far as pcc from local passport office is concerned?

2. Applicants who falls under CR1 category do need to pay any fees during interview in Mumbai Consulate? Since their spouse paid everything to the NVC. Then why it is mentioned that check with the Consulate Exchange Rate? Do we have to pay any hidden charges in the consulate during interview?

Let me know about these details as I am little anxious abou these things.
