All you can do is apply. With stronger ties to the US than home you may find it difficult to be approved.

Hello,

So you want your baby to be born in US and be the first to be the USA citizen? Wonderful mom.

There is nothing wrong applying for visitor visa but in most cases the CO won't issue you the visa.you might be placed in AP that will take longer and you will end up having a Moroccan baby.

Be proud of where you are from and give birth to your baby there.

All the best

You are dealing with a difficult consulate. You have immigrant intent as shown by your pending immigrant petition. You are pregnant and want your baby to be born in the US with your green card husband.

You are going to have a difficult time getting a tourist visa. You will have to show exceptionally strong ties to Morocco and means to pay for the baby's birth in the US

Good luck

The purpose of a US. tourist visa is to visit the country and not to give birth there in order to gain US citizenship for the baby.

If I were you, I would not tell the consulate officer what your real goal for visiting is...headbonk.gif

Agree with above posters. There is no "give birth visa" and there's a reason for that - the US does not want people from across the globe to have 14th amendment babies. You'll have to apply for a tourist which allows you to visit the US for tourism purposes. You'll need to convince the consulate that that is your only intention.

Unless you want your child to one day become president, it won't make much of a difference if he/she waits until your visa is ready. The baby can come with you at that time, and he/she will gain citizenship when you do if he/she is still under 18.

You can certainly apply for a tourist visa, but it may be denied for a number of reasons. Make sure you present evidence showing ties to your country and providing the consulate with enough evidence to support the notion you will return home at the end of your allowed stay.

Having a baby on US soil will not advance the processing of your visa, so there is no advantage for taking that risk; besides, it is a costly endeavor for which your husband's health insurance most likely will not cover you, since you are not in the policy in the first place. You and your husband may end up with thousands of dollars in medical bills as a result.

Good luck, whatever your decision.

You can definitely apply and try for a tourist visa but as you have shown you have immigration intent, you are pregnant and you are from a difficult country/ consulate it is unlikely your visa application will be approved.

How will you pay for the prenatal care, birth, and pediatric care for the child (while waiting for its passport so you can return home)? This can easily run you more than $10,000, do you and/or your spouse have this money?
