is a CERTIFIED marriage certificate different from what i recieved when i got married? i just made a copy of my originals....is that ok?

when submitting i-863 do we need to send both the tax transcripts and the federal income tax returns? someone on these boards said have my wife call the irs and request her transcripts which she did but do we need to send them in as well as copies of her returns or will the federal income returns(copies) suffice.

when putting the package together do i put all the forms...I-130, I-485, I-765 in one big envelope with fees attached to each individual form and seperate the forms with clips or rubberbands. i'm nervous they might come loose in transit and get mixed up...dont want unneccessary RFE. thx for ur replies.

I don't know the answer regarding the marriage certificate ... We used the certified ones as we requested the county send us 4 certified copies when we applied for the marriage license ... The 4 copies were waiting for us when we got home from our honeymoon so we didn't have to chase it down ... So we put a certified one in our package ... We still ended up with a RFE from CSC requesting a copy of our marriage certificate as they claimed they didn't have it ...

All we sent were the copy of the income tax returns but sometimes they will issue RFE for the actual transcripts ... Maybe if they feel the evidence they received wasn't sufficient ...

I would suggest all of the forms go together in the same envelope but seperate then with a clip and put the associated checks with each form ... Also if 2 forms request say a copy of the I-94 then make sure you attach a copy to each form as your packages will be divided up and this may eliminate them loosing something and requesting a RFE ...

And finally good luck :)

There are 2 different marriage certificates. One is a Marriage certificate and one a certified abstract of marriage. You need to send in the copy of a certified marriage certificate, which you can order from the records office where you got married. I paid $10 for mine. They don’t accept the abstract certificate. I ordered 3 at once just so I have them in case I need more. I do believe you need to send in an original copy from the records office. My lawyer did not except a home made copy. Just go online or call the Records office and see what you have to do to get one. I hope this will help you.

What is the difference between the Marriage Certificate and a Certified Abstract of Marriage ??
