I have not yet received my EAD/AP. My wife received hers last week even though I am the primary applicant. This is so weird. There has been no movement on my case. I do have my H1 so I don't know if that's why they are in no hurry. Hopefully we'll get our appointment letters for biometrics this week. It is a tad frustrating but I guess this is where patience comes in.

Got text and email this morning then checked the USCIS website. My EAD and AP have been approved! Card in production! Woohoo!!!

I have my biometrics done today, exactly 3 weeks earlier than the original appointment.

I arrived at the San Francisco ASC office around 8:30 am for a walk-in appointment but was asked to come back some other time since there are too many people before me waiting in line. Since I am not that kind of person who will give up easily, I drove to Oakland ASC office to try my luck, and they let me do it without any problems. Before me there is only one lady.

Biometrics went pretty well, it took only 5 minutes.

Just noticed on your timeline that you sent your I-130 separate from your I-485 and sent one to Phoenix and one to Chicago... What was your reasoning for doing that instead of sending them together to Chicago?

It's simply because we did not have I-693 (Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record) and joint sponsor's I-864 (Affidavit of Support) ready yet when we mailed out I-130. Instructions for I-130 said "If you are filling only I-130, and you live in California, mail your application to Phoenix."

Now both cases (I-130 and I-485) have been routed to the National Benefits Center Missouri for processing.

Congratulations!!! One step closer here.

Thanks! I've seen a lot of people post that they don't think that doing the Biometrics early speeds up the EAD or Interview process, but I feel that if you DON'T do it early, then it for sure WON'T speed anything up. We might as well try!
