Newbie here full of redundant questions:

1) where does the following response from the Texas processing center, where I sent my I129-F, fall into the timeline flow chart?

"Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Vermont Service Center for processing" this is followed by information regarding my case number and how to track my case. Is this my NOA1? Or my NOA2? It sort of sounds like they are done reviewing the case and its off to Vermont but that would indicate that they skipped a step or two.

Thanks in Advance

This is your NOA1 so you update the timeline with the date received by Vermont and put Vermont in your timeline as well. You will see the received date listed on the actual NOA1 letter (Form I-797C). NOA2 will come months later when Vermont adjudicates your petition.

What Todd said + once you add this information to your Timeline, you'll be able to see an estimated processing time frame that will give you a general idea on when the approval of your petition (a.k.a. NOA2) will happen.

I updated my timeline with date I received NOA1. Just so I am clear, the NOA2 is an indication that Vermont has received the application and begins the adjudication process, then begins a long delay before approval and before the forwarding of the approved file to embassy or consulate? Timeline says that the time between NOA1 and NOA2 is a few weeks, it seems like the long delay is after NOA2. Maybe I am just misreading things.

Thanks for your response.

Jeff

Please edit your Timeline again, and change the Service Center. You want to select Vermont, not Texas.

That will change your estimated date to a more tangible one, because the Texas Service Center does not process K1 visas and you are currently getting wrong data from thanks to that small detail.

Thank You, that is a nice tool, can't wait to tell my significant other that the process is actually moving forward and give her an idea on our steps through purgatory.

No, NOA2 means they have finally , after many months, adjucated your petition and it was approved. You will receive no notices between NOA1 and NOA2.

Great job updating your Timeline. Now, you can see the following:

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between April 17, 2013 and April 23, 2013*.

Yes, buckle up! There's nothing you can do and there will be many uneventful months yes.gif

Do you two a favor and move on over to the RUB (Russia-Belarus-Ukraine) regional forum here on VJ.

Tons of similar folks, some of us have been through some or all of the process and many others in various stages.

Tons of Embassy specific information that you can't get on the general K-1 forum here.
