Wow looks promising, but I think it's probably just because they were the first people from the new path, and perhaps their applications were the first ones transferred, thus they had exclusive access to the office for a while?

The DCF petitions are treated very differently. From all indications those of us residing in non-DCF countries are remaining at NBC to be processed.

yeah,! I just got a hard copy for my NOA1

but when I did a search on the forum, someone from Cananda did a money order drawn on US dollars from there and they got an RFE!

I guess they were really hungry for my money order, so I'm good.

Hubby sent oct 13th adn delivered Oct 15th to USCIS.....

so patienly waiting of noa1 almost two weeks now..... huhuhu :-(

9/29/06 - Started dating my husband (LDR For 5 years after 6/07)
8/22/12 - Married in Japan
10/10/12 - I-130 Sent (Japan Post)
10/12/12 - Received at Chicago Lock Box
10/15/12 - NOA1(no email, had to call and find out and recieved the hard copy 10/22/12) case at NBC
12/14/12 - NOA2(no email once again,randomly checked it online)
01/07/13 - NVC Case Received
01/25/13 - Case Number assigned and AOS fee billed(somehow NVC didn't write down the proper emails for my husband and I )
3/06/13 - AOS invoice paid!(more like the 4th,when they withdrew the money!)
3/04/13 - DS-3032 email sent
3/13/13 - DS-3032 replied to
3/14/13 - IV invoice billed
3/16/13 - IV invoice bill paid
3/19/13 - NVC withdrew my money(waiting for the PAID STATUS)
3/24/13 - IV invoice officially paid
4/03/13 - Sent AOS and IV (without PCC....doh!) package via next day mail
4/04/13 - AOS & IV Package received
4/16/13 - AOS accepted(found out by phone april 17th)
4/17/13 - NVC wants PCC(found out via phone)CHECKLIST!
4/18/13 - Sent PCC with checklist (cover letter, etc) next day mail
4/19/13 - PCC delivered
4/30/13 - Case Complete(Lord, PLEASE!!! LET ME GET IT BY THE END OF APRIL!!) #### YEAH!

5/16/13- Package left NVC for Tokyo(I assume it will get there in 3days)
5/20/13- Package delivered to Tokyo embassy

Oct 23: reveived e-notification through SMS

Now my concern is i cant check the status of my papers with my receipt number? It starts with MSC.

You won't be able to check it online anyhow. Most is not all of the msc numbers are not working in the system. If you read this entire thread it explains why.

Oh alright, for some reason I actually thought the whole physical packet was sent around. Besides, I would expect they would have high-speed scanners that can handle large piles of paper, I had them at my old job, they can do like 15 or 20 pages per minute, and the feeder can handle a lot. So a transfer really shouldn't delay things by much, but being in NYC I would expect the local office here must be swamped compared to other offices.

It's my understanding that the physical casefile DOES travel around,

and that physical casefile MUST BE AT NVC before NVC processing can be started.

SOMEWHERE in the USCIS steps, the casefile is scanned.

repeat - the physical casefile IS SENT around - note that one of the stops is at the scanning station.

WHY, you ask? Ultimately, there's an electronic COPY made, stored in a system called SAFEFILE, that NVC and all IV units access.

USCIS I-130 Petition for Spouse

September 2012: Filed from abroad to Chicago Lockbox

4 days later: NOA1, Routed to California Service Center

7 days later: Transferred because of new jurisdiction

5 days later: Case Status changed to: Under processing at USCIS office

NOA2 arrived 78 days after NOA1 :)

*I-130 Approval Notice hardcopy finally received in Pakistan, the only notice that arrived.

10-13-2012 - I-130 sent to Phoenix Lockbox with expedite request (medical)

10-17-2012 - I-130 packet received at Phoenix Lockbox (so says USPS)

10-22-2012 - I-130 NOA1 date, per text and email. Going to MSC, Drats.

10-25-2012 - I-797-C Received via USPS - postmark 10-22, rcv'd date 10-17, notice date 10-19, PD 10-17

10-26-2012 - Service Request/Referral put in with an ISO over the telephone. ISO requested that someone review the casefile, find the expedite request included in it, and make a determination to expedite or no

10-30-2012 - [gleaned on the 31st via telephone] Expedite Request Under Review. Decision within 60 days. letter to follow

errata:

1. yay ! They used my office address, as I asked

2. They spelt my wife's name properly

3. They spelt MY name properly

4. MSC # is the same, txt vs email vs I-797-C

5. For my phone calls, I press no buttons - this routes the call to a spanish speaker, each time. I let the CSR catch a breath, then say 'English Please' then ask to be transferred to an ISO. I can feel their disappointment, each time that I ask for transfer.

6. I think my NOA-1 wording is different than the NOA-1s issued earlier in the month, is no notice of transfer, is no verbiage about NBC, the USCIS listed address is NBC at Lee's Summit.

I notice the received date and the priority date are the same, I'm using the notice date as my NOA-1 date in my profile. Yay !

Well, call me impatient, but I called today about the MSC numbers not working. The script reader was very very nice and told me she was escalating my call and I should tell them I have an invalid receipt number. I waited 30 min on hold and another nice lady asked for the number again. She pulled it up internally and told me there is no problem the file is in Missouri and that It is just too soon to be in the Case status system. She confirmed all my data with me on the phone and it was encouraging to hear her read the information off of her screen. She then, told me your wife will be with you very soon, just be a little more patient and if you don't hear back anything from us after another 15 days to call back...HMMMM....Sounded like she knew something about some event that was to happen, maybe another transfer or maybe just listed in the system by then. Anyway, I guess I feel better :)

17-Dec-11 Met my wife for first time

24-Jul-12 - Married in Philippines, Honeymoon in Hong Kong

20-Sep-12 - Return to Philippines for visit/Medical/finish up i-130

2-Oct-12 - I-130 Sent (Fedex)

3-Oct-12 - Received at Phoenix Lockbox

09-Oct-12- NOA1 email/SMS : I-130 transferred to NBC

12-Dec-12 - File appeared in Case status

25-Dec-12 - Returned to Philippines for Christmas and New Years

4-Jan-13- Learned my file was transferred to local office on Nov 27

17-Jan-13- I-130 Approved
