Nothing significant appears to have changed other than that shameful "30 to 45 days to see your online case status" BS. Honestly, that's appalling. Imagine being a large company and telling your customers, "30 to 45 days until you can expect to see the status of your order."

LATEST STEPS:

28 Jun 2013: POE Houston

08 Jul 2013: SSN received (at SSA office)

07 Aug 2013: Green Card received

27 Feb 2014: Whoa, life happened. Planning move "back home" together to Republic of Ireland by end of April.

29 Apr 2014: POE Dublin through Heathrow

15 May 2014: Received formal residency/work permission (GNIB card with Stamp 4, one year renewable) for the ROI

some movement today -

My ILS Human send me a copy of the response from the 'Dallas Congressional' USCIS staffer,

telling her that the congressional inquiry arrived at the Dallas Local Office this morning

and

it was referred to a supervisor of the Service for review and determination of the expedite request.

I pray someone actually is doing something - as this is 5 times I've made official inquiry on that @#$@%ing expedite request.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

ya, it scares people for some reason. I don't get it. most of us waiting 2+ months in this month group, October, before we saw anything.

Now there's wording asking people to use a calendar before freaking out, compute 30 to 45 days on a calendar.

I don't get the freak out, everyone asking 'whats this mean?' actually scares me, as the english language used is clear to me.

Hey, Darnell, I'm so encouraged that you're making progress on the expedite!!

As for the new people... What they mean is "does this mean our case is actually not being processed for weeks and weeks?". I think it's excusable. They don't know the case could actually be going through some simultaneous processing, like most of ours did before they showed up in the system. They don't remember the fiasco with most October filers not showing up. All they know is "OMG something is wrong, my case is supposed to be here and it's not."

The USCIS, bless them, respond in haste to the onslaught of phone calls complaining "my case doesn't show up", but that same haste seems absent in the actual processing of the cases. I can run my spreadsheet of over a thousand numbers in an hour or so. Don't tell me they can't get some temp to enter "initial reviews" into the database all day.

I thought it was pretty clear too - stop calling NCSC because your case hasn't shown up yet online.

I don't even know why I bother checking online when I get extra bored.

There's absolutely no point.

I'm at a field office.

It's not like there's going to be some magical new touch date to appease me.

At least a Chicago applicant finally got approved.

And they had an RFE too.

6 months still, though.

There's a second one with almost an identical time frame, but for some reason it won't let me see their timeline.

But the stats are showing up in the overall info.

I've only seen one member approved at my local office on VJ. He was an August filer and was approved in a mere 69 days.

I am the petitioner.

I've pretty much decided to check once a day but as most people say they've gotten text or email when the website changes, I figure I'll hear about it that way. I guess I'm finally resigned to finding something more productive to do. I also can't hurry up my spouse into getting his tax transcripts etc... So I think in the end I'll be waiting on him. He's such a procrastinating last minute doer. /headdesk
