oh, super congrats!!! What was your local field office?

Well I am a US citizen residing abroad which I noted all over the application so Im not sure that it was actually transferred to a field office. I was never given any indication of that. Where would it say it if I was?

Based on my permanent address in the US, I think I would have been sent to the Charleston, SC field office. I looked at the office and even though their receipts have gone up a lot, they only have like 800 or so applications compared to thousands in other field offices. They also did not send an RFE for my husband`s birth certificate, which they did for someone else at the Charleston, SC field office. It would be interesting to see if they are keeping US citizens residing abroad at NBC and only sending the US citizens residing in the US to the local field offices.

That would be interesting. Yes, based on what I've been reading of other cases, I think they are treating the USC-abroad cases a bit differently from the USC-domestic cases, but I am mostly paying attention to the difference between a Direct Consular Filing petitioner resident in London, and a US-resident petitioner filing directly to a US office.

The DCF petitions are treated very differently. From all indications those of us residing in non-DCF countries are remaining at NBC to be processed.

So sorry to hear YA 1127, I cancelled my appointment at 5am today, I just had a bad feeling that was the answer I was going to get and all my time would be wasted, I knew it for a while now.

So basically we're stuck checking once a day the USCIS website to see when the case shows up online, which essentially means an agent has finally touched it., which could be in a week, a month, or longer. mad.gif

All of a sudden I wish I lived somewhere in a small town near no major urban areas. headbonk.gif

Oh well, hopefully soon!

Do you mind modifying your timeline to show that you're applying for an IR-1/CR-1 Visa, so it doesn't skew the results and adds to the correct data group. cool.gif

Ugh, I keep seeing this on my timeline... mad.gif

Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated between December 5, 2012 and December 11, 2012*.

I just made my second call since receipt of NOA1 and my call was stepped up. I asked very direct questions concerning the problem with MSC receipts and where our files were.

Question 1 Where is my file?

Answer: It is physically in Missouri

Question 2 Will my file be transferred?

Answer: Only if there is a problem with the file and a Local service center needs to see the applicant, otherwise, we will be adjudicating here in Missouri.

NOTE: I beat this one like a drum and was assured the file will stay in Missouri unless have a request or problem with the file. I was also told I WILL get a notice if forwarded to local office, unlike the statement online. She was aware of that statement, but assured me its intention is outdated hmmm, interesting statement.

Additional information from operator: We understand the frustration with the receipt numbers, there is a problem with our system with the receipt numbers from late September to early October and we are still working on correcting the problem. We hope to resolve it very soon Others are slowly being able to check status and you will also in the near future.

I felt I had a very knowledgeable person on the phone and she was very kind and told me to call and get updated every couple weeks if I like, but not to worry the file is in process.

Made my 3rd call today for status and my call was elevated. I asked where my file was physically located and I was told. I can not see that information, but I can see that it was referred to a local field office on November 27th. He then said...Oh thats good news, you can rest assured it is being reviewed. BAhhhhhhaaaaahhahahahaha I said well Im not resting very easy, to which he replied..Exactly..?!?! Exactly, what I said...He then said, Is there anything else I can help you with? I guess not...WOW! FRUSTRATING!!!
