just called USCIS now and of course the first lady gave me the generic answer of my case being at NBC and processing time as per service center is still May...I soflty but adamantly requested to speak to second level officer and I was transferred. After a wait of abt 20 something minutes this very pleasant speaking lady comes on and takes my info then puts me on hold to review my file. She then apologizes for the delay in updating their case status system and assures me they have my case and it is pending( of course i did not mention that I can see the status online). Just as she was abt to end to end the call, I ask " so where exactly is my file now"? she said "well it shows here that it was sent to a field office on Nov 27th and that is a good sign that there is some progress so hopefully you will hear from them soon...good luck on your case and do feel free to call us again with any more questions".

So I continue to wait.......hmmm NY field office. I just hope they are up to date with their knowledge of I130 requirements and just approve my case without any issues.

I hope so too, my case is in the NY Field office as well, lets hope we both get a nice letter with good news this month. :)

The worst part of it is not knowing if it'll take 5 months or 2 months, it's difficult for a new marriage, just wish it was more streamlined and not a new process. sad.gif

so at 830 they just cut the lines and did not try to finish helping the calls on hold? WOW :bonk:

I think it might just be a problem with cell service or phone service, or just a mistake. I once called at 7:45pm and was on hold for like 1 hour and 20 minutes before I spoke to someone for about 5 minutes, I always only call near the end, as i'm at work the other times.

The profile is whatever you set it up to be when you created the account, it doesn't change. Mine is the same it was for my I-129F petition, even though I've added the I-130 and there has been an address change.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

Does anyone know what kind of additional delay we can expect with the holidays coming up? Just a few days? A solid 2-3 weeks? Does the entire processing bureaucracy shut down for half December? Or do just a few people take a few days off?

With some of the early October filers starting to see progress (meaning they can see their case online), my I-130 petition should be visible soon. Unless there is a holiday period delay. Sigh...the lack of transparency into this process is really frustrating. It's been six weeks since the NOA1 and my gut says we won't see anything until well after the new year.

The little details:

  • ~15 October: Posted I-130 from Switzerland to Chicago Lockbox
  • 29 October: I-130 NOA1 with MSC receipt number
  • early November Posted I-129f from Switzerland to Texas Lockbox
  • 15 November I-129f NOA1 with MSC receipt number
  • 23 November I-130 "your Alien Registration Number was changed"
  • 15 December I-130 MSC# finally online, in "Initial Review"
  • 27 December I-130 NOA2

Did you file for a K3? I think that is going to delay your case a little from what I've heard.

Yes. (I think. Already married, filed a I-129f.) But my question is about the holidays and what impact they have on processing times, regardless. It's something that very will may impact us all.

If you did a forum search you'd see that they are closed on December 25th and January 1 http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/389403-when-does-the-uscis-close-for-christmas-break/

I'm sure it will delay it slightly between that and some people taking holiday breaks, but it shouldn't push it back more than a few days.

I see we are close to each other on process dates. did they tell you when your file was sent to the field office ?....maybe one progress may give the other a heads up. it is difficult on a new marriage indeed. my hubby is itching for me to go back but i am trying to wait out january with hope that our interview will be closer then once we get approved in Dec  .we are expecting so the extra money saved from my trip could solve some things.

I have an Oct 10 NoA1 and able to see mine now/today for 1st time; 'initial review'. I have called twice and pushed for info + sent an expedite request. Like everyone else here, I am suffering from the 'no info' syndrome and sort of wonder why all this 'secrecy'?? I am a spouse of UC (17 yrs) and father of three UC all born in the US....and previous GC holder, but had to abandon due 8 yrs out of country. We live overseas, but wife and kids moving back home (TX) shortly.

When calling USCIS we are being told 5 to 9 months for I130 - but guessing more like 3 months from various comments here. Seems like the processing time is slowly being extended as we move into 2nd half September filers....

Yes to lots of what you said above.

I say No to 5-9 months.

Sure, you could end up with 3-5 months I guess, but over 5 months I think is highly unlikely for you.

Also, :time:
