Hey everybody! I'm an October filer with an October 5th priority date. My I 130 was received at the National Benefits Center, and after constant calling and long hold times, I was finally told that it was transferred to a local office (Jacksonville, FL) by November 14th. I was a bit worried, since most people had their's transferred to a local office about a week after NOA 1, not 1.5 months. Then, by December 5th, I received a letter saying it would take a maximum of 2 months. So hopefully by no later than February, our I130's will be approved :)

I did have one question for the next step, and I'm not sure where to ask (this is my first post). I'm confused as to how to fill out my affidavit of support to show I can support my wife. I'm currently an MBA student with only 1 prior year of tax returns. I also am part-owner of a home, so I know I have the assets to be above the poverty line. I guess my question is does anyone have any recommendations as to how to pursue the affidavit of support?

Thanks and good luck, fellow October filers!!

The only thing I would think of is if you get a co-sponsor?

But maybe if you explain your situation along with the affidavit, they will understand.

Got a question for you : was the letter upon you asking for it or issuing a service request or it just came spontaneously from USCIS, that would be amazing:-)

It DEFININTELY wasn't spontaneous! I've pretty much called them twice a week for the last 3 weeks. I was getting worried when it was more than a week since receiving the NOA1 and I still didn't get anything about being transferred to a local office even though I filled out form G1145 or whatever it's called to receive emails and letter mail to keep me up-to-date

ya, you need to call in and get an ISO.

an ISO can see all, the CSR that answers the phone can't see much, if anything, on a MSC casefile receipt #.

So, call in, ask to be transferred to an ISO.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

After reading some other posts, I realize our case number starts with MSC too! I figured by being in Washington and filing at the Phoenix lockbox, we would go to the CSC. The earlier link was invalid that explains why theyre transferring cases. Anyone have the updated link?

I am in the same boat since my case has been transfered to the NBC. I have not heard anything yet. How did you get speak with the ISO? I called the 1-800 number on the NOA1 and the guy was reading the same information that was in the NOA1. I am tired with this long waiting... Any advise?

Tell them you want to speak to someone that can actually see your case and tell you about it. If you insist on being transferred, they will transfer you.

just called USCIS now and of course the first lady gave me the generic answer of my case being at NBC and processing time as per service center is still May...I soflty but adamantly requested to speak to second level officer and I was transferred. After a wait of abt 20 something minutes this very pleasant speaking lady comes on and takes my info then puts me on hold to review my file. She then apologizes for the delay in updating their case status system and assures me they have my case and it is pending( of course i did not mention that I can see the status online). Just as she was abt to end to end the call, I ask " so where exactly is my file now"? she said "well it shows here that it was sent to a field office on Nov 27th and that is a good sign that there is some progress so hopefully you will hear from them soon...good luck on your case and do feel free to call us again with any more questions".

So I continue to wait.......hmmm NY field office. I just hope they are up to date with their knowledge of I130 requirements and just approve my case without any issues.

Why grumpy!

My grumpiness comes about from the apparent use of different adjudication rules at several of the local USCIS offices.

They should be using the ones that CSC and VSC uses, and not the ones when filing for an adjustment of status casefile.

I'm so grumpy about this, I'm actually writing a letter going out today to my local office, inquiring about my casefile status, the need for a local interview, the need for them to follow the same adjudication rules as CSC and VSC, and a general inquiry into the status of my expedite request.

/end of rant.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

October filler here... I'm starting to get nervous not knowing if everything is ok (no online status, in the dark for almost 2 months). I do spend quite some time on VJ, it's my way to get information, learn about the process, read other people experience (feel less lonely) and feel just a little less "powerless".

My husband won't call USCIS despite all my requests (nice ones, informative ones, not so nice ones, you get the point, ie

I don't know any other way (than calling USCIS) to at least make sure than everything is ok and that we're not "missing" something.

I probably just need to relax but we all know how difficult it is when this process is so life changing.

CR-1 Spouse Visa, Filled abroad (I am the Beneficiary / Applicant)

2012 USCIS (MSC)

October 15: I-130 NOA1

December 15: NOA2

2013 NVC (BRS) Case number received 5 weeks after NOA2 - DS-3032
February 25: AOS and IV delivered to NVC

March 13: Case complete
April 3: Interview - Visa approved - USCIS Immigrant Fee paid

May: POE (Dallas Fort Worth Airport)

2015 REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS

February 18: NOA I-751 Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence

March 18: Biometrics appointment

August 17: approved

It is rather uninformative when you call for the most part. All they told me was that my case was still at NBC, I had no RFEs, and not to count on getting mail to the Danish address. I'd have him call in 2 weeks if you haven't heard anything. I think there was an October filer a little before you who filed from abroad (I'm not 100% sure) who just got approved (54 days). Did you get your paper NOA1?

I kind of know that it could very uninformative, I'd just feel better knowing for sure!

We did receive our paper NOA1 to the Belgium address. I've been reading though about USCIS not sending abroad 100%, so not receiving anything doesn't make me feel sure enough that there is actually nothing.
