October 2012 I-130 Filers

This is like a rollercoaster ride, one day i'm thinking might get an NOA2 in less than 2 months, the following day realize it could be several more months! wacko.gifsad.gif

I called today and I wish I didn't (did wait 55min), all I heard is I-130 takes 6 months and we have no specific info to give you... :-( After insisting the lady said a transfer to local office is initiated...

Are they faster in local offices?

20-Oct-11 - Married
26-Sep-12 - Became US Citizen (I did wait for this to file I-130. I think I should have filed as LPR and upgrade my case later)
3-Oct-12 - I-130 Sent (Fedex)
23-Jan-13 - NOA2 : Interview at field office - APPROVED same day!!!

05.Mar.13: NVC Received - Finally (USCIS made an error and set my file for Adjustment of Status. It took me energy to get it fixed!)
05.Mar.13: Case number/IIN
05.Mar.13: DS-3032 sent
07.Mar.13: AOS bill

The DCF petitions are treated very differently. From all indications those of us residing in non-DCF countries are remaining at NBC to be processed.

It just depends on where your local office is?? Some are much faster than others..

Well it seems the ones getting approved at local offices are ones who live in areas with fewer immigrants and Texas isn't one of those states....

My citizenship went fast with San Antonio and they said they were not getting enough people to fill up ceremonies, so I will stay hopeful:-)

My wife called yesterday.

They tell everybody the same thing: it is still in normal processing times, a lot families are calling and this guy said it is transferred to a local field office.

For us that's Seattle, lot of immigrants there so..bummer!

Met : March 2012 in Afghanistan

Married : August 22,2012 in Belgium

USCIS

Califonia Service Center

Sep 24,2012 - I-130 send to Phoenix Lockbox

Sep 26,2012 - I-130 NOA1

Oct 04,2012 - I-130 case transferred from CSC to NBC Missouri

Oct 10,2012 - I-130 case transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office

Jan 23, 2013 - I-130 approved!!!

I'm going to have my wife call today(I'll do the dialing she can do the talking being they insist on talking to the petitioner) and find out if we were transferred to a local office.

07/09/2013: POE - EWR. Went super fast and easy. 5 minutes of waiting and then just a signature and finger print.

09/16/2016: Scheduled oath ceremony.

09/16/2016: THE END - 4 year long process all done!

What a coinsidence and if you get an infopass appt is it at Stemmons or Irving?

Maybe you should find your local office?

Hi Folks, another October filer here.

We received both NOA1s (130+129f) fairly quickly, with MSC receipt numbers. No status available online.

This is like a rollercoaster ride, one day i'm thinking might get an NOA2 in less than 2 months, the following day realize it could be several more months!

I've been on that roller coaster just reading the VJ forums this evening. Having a least a firm timeline, no matter how long, would be preferable! We've got so much going on now that the unknown state of all this is driving us mad! (I'm moving to US to start a new job in January, my wife is pregnant and due in March, we need to close up life here in Switzerland at the end of April, etc. Ugh.)

The little details:

  • ~15 October: Posted I-130 from Switzerland to Chicago Lockbox
  • 29 October: I-130 NOA1 with MSC receipt number
  • early November Posted I-129f from Switzerland to Texas Lockbox
  • 15 November I-129f NOA1 with MSC receipt number
  • 23 November I-130 "your Alien Registration Number was changed"
  • 15 December I-130 MSC# finally online, in "Initial Review"
  • 27 December I-130 NOA2

Just call USCIS n was told the my case was transfer to my local office I ask how do u know what office and she said it goes by zip code and mines was in Philadelphia also should get something in the mail about the transfer

soo....basically everyone is getting sent to their local field offices even if we've been told before we were staying at NBC?

bleh...I just checked houston's volume chart and it doesn't look pretty...what looked like a 2-3 month wait before august is now a 6 month wait starting from september.

8/22/12 - Married in Japan
10/10/12 - I-130 Sent (Japan Post)
10/12/12 - Received at Chicago Lock Box
10/15/12 - NOA1(no email, had to call and find out and recieved the hard copy 10/22/12) case at NBC
12/14/12 - NOA2(no email once again,randomly checked it online)
01/07/13 - NVC Case Received
01/25/13 - Case Number assigned and AOS fee billed(somehow NVC didn't write down the proper emails for my husband and I )
3/06/13 - AOS invoice paid!(more like the 4th,when they withdrew the money!)
3/04/13 - DS-3032 email sent
3/13/13 - DS-3032 replied to
3/14/13 - IV invoice billed
3/16/13 - IV invoice bill paid
3/19/13 - NVC withdrew my money(waiting for the PAID STATUS)
3/24/13 - IV invoice officially paid
4/03/13 - Sent AOS and IV (without PCC....doh!) package via next day mail
4/04/13 - AOS & IV Package received
4/16/13 - AOS accepted(found out by phone april 17th)
4/17/13 - NVC wants PCC(found out via phone)CHECKLIST!
4/18/13 - Sent PCC with checklist (cover letter, etc) next day mail
4/19/13 - PCC delivered
4/30/13 - Case Complete(Lord, PLEASE!!! LET ME GET IT BY THE END OF APRIL!!) #### YEAH!

5/16/13- Package left NVC for Tokyo(I assume it will get there in 3days)
5/20/13- Package delivered to Tokyo embassy
5/21/13- Medical
