Thank you, Speedwell and Robinhood.

I'm waiting for NVC to send me an E-mail to give me new number so I can go have medical check up, police certificate, and make an appointment for an interview at US council in Tokyo, Japan to finally get my visa approved!

My husband (USC) and I also filed in October 2012. We received an email from NVC saying that my I-130 and I-129f have BOTH been received, resulting in the I-129f being administratively closed. My husband received an email on February 22nd saying we have now reached NVC and they gave us our NVC case number. I received the same letter in the snail mail a few weeks later. (Mail to Australia takes a while I guess.)

Anyway, as a result, we filed I-130s for my 2 daughters, as they could no longer be derivatives of the K3. About a week later, we called USCIS to request an expedite on my 2 daughters cases, stating my case had reached NVC. The tier 2 guy said No Problem and we were so excited!!

On March 7th, we received NOA2 for our I-129f but not our I-130. We figured this would come, NVC told us they had received it so it would come eventually.

We called 2 weeks later to see how it was all going as we had received no word from them at all and they told us there was an expedite request on only ONE of the girls files, but this couldn't be initiated as I was not even in their system as I-130 approved! I have proof from NVC but still they told us it was our field office that have not updated so we had to wait. Sooooo frustrated!

So, we give them another 2 weeks and we ring USCIS again. (yesterday) The guy tells us yet again, there is nothing they can do about the expedite requests as it is an issue with the field office. So, we got off the phone and immediately made an Infopass appointment for tomorrow in Milwaukee.

This has been such a bungled mess, full of headaches. Why do they make this so difficult for families to legally be together? The human aspect is totally forgotten. Then I read today, that the field offices hold onto approved petitions til the end of the month so they can send them all out together in a bunch? Do they realize that husbands and wives sit on the edge of their chairs every single day with their hearts beating hard in their chests, checking to see if they receive anything in their email or mailbox? Don't they get it??? Arggghhhhhhh!!!!

Fingers crossed my husband can get everything straightened out at the Infopass appointment tomorrow. Our first Wedding anniversary is in 3 days and we still feel like we are months away from being together.

I'm surprised you tried for the K3 at all. Wouldn't you have had to do the I-130 applications for the girls anyhow?

I hope you can get it all straightened out at the infopass. The local offices have both sped things up and slowed somethings down because they're so individual.

I likely won't be with my husband on our wedding anniversary either if it's any consolation? Just think, this first year has been such a hassle that next year will be the first year you've spent together and the anniversary will mean so much more!

Thank you and yes, you are right that this year has been challenging. I can't wait to get through all of this and settle into blissfully happy family life with my husband! Being apart really makes you miss all the little things that others take for granted... watching movies on the couch, cooking dinner together, going on family outings.

I am hoping that because of the mistakes USCIS have made, they will grant our expedition request for the girls and we can proceed at NVC! Fingers crossed!

Happy Easter :)

Hopefully they can be expedited.

Just sent in my IV package. Yay! DS-260 done and email with scanned docs sent! I was so excited to be able to do it today! Who'da thunk!
