@sdee11 - your case is inspiring.

My daughter and I are also in F2A category.. husband is now eligible for citizenship. Anyone here have an idea what would be the process in upgrading our case to IR1 if I have my 5yr old daughter as derivative in my F2A application once my husband is granted a citizenship?

AFAIK, there should be a separate I130 application for me and my daughter if the petitioner is a citizen. If that is the case, I am wondering if my daughter's I130 application would again queue in 9+ months USCIS processing?

Our PD is March2011. Please enlighten me and help me weigh what would be the best option in our case.. should I just wait for our PD to become current or to apply for citizenship and upgrade to IR1?

In case my husband files his N-400 this November, I am thinking that our timeline for upgrading to IR1 and just waiting for F2A would be almost the same. But saving even a couple of months really matters to us.

Honestly, since you have a child, I think you are better off staying in F2A and waiting for your priority date to become current. Otherwise your husband would indeed need to file a new petition for your daughter and wait for it to be processed at USCIS which would likely take at least five months. After that, you'd still have the NVC processing for the daughter's petition and possibly a couple of months' wait for her interview date. It's your decision of course, but with a child involved it might just be safer for your husband not to naturalize yet.

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE

18 November 2013: Green card received

My husband's citizenship journey:

8 February 2013: N-400 sent
4 March 2013: Biometrics
24 April 2013: Interview
12 June 2013: Oath ceremony
