 This county has 2 co-ed U-12 soccer teams, one of which my daughter plays for. The other of which, another member here, maya62's step-son Amrit plays for, too! :D

There was a game scheduled for this morning at 10 and was supposed to be the last of the fall season. A big game, the two county soccer teams would be playing against EACH OTHER- both teams were undefeated so far this year. Hubby and I were certain that it was going to be cancelled since it had rained all night long and everything was drenched. But nope....we waited for the call, it never came so we headed on our way.

Look at what we headed out into at 9:25 a.m.! This is just turning from our driveway out onto the road...

The highway wasn't a whole lot better, I'll tell ya! This was the HIGHWAY! I white-knuckled it all the way there, thank God the field is just 5 miles away!

And speaking of the field - this is what greeted us. We weren't even absolutely sure if the kids were going to be able to see the ball...if they didn't DROWN first, that was! But the coaches and kids were adamant that the game must go on...

Strangely enough, while they were warming up for the game, within a 10 minute time frame, the sun came blaring out and burnt away the fog...

At least they were able to see the ball then hehe even if they had GREAT difficulty playing with a huge puddle in the middle of the field and the field so soggy that they were slipping and sliding all over the place. Those poor kids - you should have seen them after the game. Matter of fact, you can haha here they are! This too, after the freakin COACH encouraged them all to deliberately slide through the puddle!

And HE WENT THROUGH IT BELLY FIRST ON THE GROUND! Didn't get a pic of that tho, darn it...lol.

For all of their efforts, wouldn't ya know it...tie game! So the both Rappahannock teams remain undefeated.

 GO RAPP GO!

Not the boundaries drawn on maps,

With the names of powerful men.

That's all I've wanted -

To walk in such a place with you,

On an earth without maps."
