Hi

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the process about expedited EAD. MY case is my wife is pregnant and only works 30hrs a week which at the moment is not enough to live on for us both plus getting ready to have a baby. I had my biometrics done on the 5/10/2012 and really need to start work ASAP to help support us both. Is this a good enough ground to stand on in regards to expediting my EAD?

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the process about expedited EAD. Most people who's going to reply after me will probably say no. But rather than waiting for a reply from people over here, I would start working on that email and attaching documents showing that your wife is pregnant, the number of hours she works and how much it is and wait for a reply from USCIS. Here's a link from someone whose expedited EAD as approved. http://forums.immigration.com/showthread.php?312694-Expedited-EAD-processing-Any-such-thing

I'd start applying for jobs too while waiting for your EAD. Several of my friends had job offers before they were even given an authorization to work. They just mentioned that their work document is still being processed during the interview. They were offered jobs with a start date of when they acquired their work document. I work in the IT industry, it's not uncommon practice to do this. I don't know which industry you're in though. It might not work.

Good luck!

the average wait time for an EAD is 60 days. I agree with Ca-Babe. Ask for an expedite, they can only say no or YES!!! Is your wife's pregnancy and the birth expenses covered under her medical insurance? Do you have a co-sponsor? Just thinking you may want to investigate the impact of her being pregnant on the I 864 she signed. Good luck.
