This is probably a really very stupid question and I am sure there is a very simple answer. My husband has filled out the I130s for myself and our sons and I was just checking them over before we go ahead and print them.

There is a line for Q18 - Address in the US where your relative intends to live. We have no idea where we are going to be living. We know where my husband is going to be living when he moves out ahead of us but he will then be finding us accommodation before the boys and I move out. My husband has left that field blank and the blank space makes me fret a bit. Is it better to write "Unknown" ot "To be decided at a later date" or something along those lines in that space? Or is leaving it blank OK?

Then Q21 - If filing for your husband / wife give the last address you lived together. My husband has given not our current address but our previous address. That isn't right, is it? We have been together for 20 years so we have a lot of previous addresses but surely what they are actually after is our current address since that is where we are actually living together and will be the last place we will have lived together when he moves ahead of us.

I also want to check that he has got Q22 correct. It asks for information about the relative being in the US and applying for AOS. It asks for either city and state or city and country. As we are doing the DCF route, we won't be going through AOS. Correct? So are we right to just write London, United Kingdom so that it is clear we are going through the USCIS office in the London Embassy?

I feel like I know what the right answers are to these questions (except maybe the blank space situation) but I just don't trust that I am assuming correctly.

Thanks in advance for all your assistance in sorting out the clutter in my brain.

Best wishes

Laura

Q18 Just write "To be determined at a later date" or "Not yet known" or something along those lines.

Q21 You need to write where you live now.

Q22 Just write N/A because you are not in the US so it isnt applicable to your case. It will be clear you're doing DCF because of where you mail it to.

Q18 - Later, on the DS-230, the same question is asked but it's qualified by "if known", so I would feel fully safe and comfortable writing either option you mentioned. :) Just don't leave it blank.

Q21 - Yes, where you are now. This question is broad, to include people NOT filing via DCF, in which case the US spouse is generally living in the States while the foreign spouse resides abroad. So the "last lived together" is meant to include those people, but in cases like ours where we live together now, it's our current address.

Q22 - You can write N/A, and since the embassy will process this, there probably isn't any need for concern. Sometimes the USCIS service centers screw this up for people consular processing and it becomes useful to specify the embassy/consulate where you'll be interviewing, but the embassy won't get that wrong! :)

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter

Thank you both.

I am glad that you agree that writing something is better than leaving a blank. I am also not surprised that I was correct about Q21 but it is useful to have that reassurance from a third party. I think form-filling has me second-guessing myself all the time as I am so eager to get everything spot on and just right.

Thanks!

Best wishes
