Yea I touched 6 months on friday also. I dont feel like asking my fiance to spend hours on the phone during work hours because I'm not even sure if calling them will achieve anything. I'm trying to force myself to focus on other things like work, spending time with friends and family while i still can. It helps for a while but then i still end up checking whether we're approved first thing in the morning. I hate that.

I know if i call they're going to tell me they can't help me yet i'm still within their timeframe according to the website. So i haven't bothered. And at this point nothing is helping me, I'm the USC so other than going to work and being busy during the day, the evening and the weekends are dreadful for me. I tell myself I'm not going to check the websites, i'm just going to ignore it all and one day that wonderful text or email will come but instead like you, i find myself checking each morning just in case...The first few months weren't so bad because I knew it would be at least 5 months, once we hit that, it's just gotten worse for me every day and now that we're at 6 months, i just want to cry all the time. This waiting...no one but those of us going through this can understand how awful it is.

That's probably one of the worst things ever! I mean from the 8th all the way to the 20th?? UGH!!! it's impossible for me to have any hope around those dates because every single day or 2 it's different. It was awesome when it was moving backward, but that only happened for a couple of days and then it started the other way and now it's just going further and further into Jan. I think i'm doomed to be into Feb. at this point....

We're August filers, we were so pleased for you guys when we saw that July Petitions were starting to get approved, we've watched and felt your frustrations knowing that we're next ... the last couple of weeks has been especialy hard watching our expected NOA2 get pushed back towards the end of February and we really feel for everyone that is going through this process ... the only solice is that you know it will happen!

Keep you head up and your heart strong!

Have they been approving anyone? We are noa1 date 7/3 and were approved thru vsc on 12/27. Has it all just slowed down? They had really picked up the pace for a month or two.

The hardest part is the wait after that is goes REALLY quickly...so use the time to get prepared...get your docs together...fill out forms etc...assuming you haven't already. If you have...take up embroidery like I did lol ;)

I guess Christmas slowed them down keeping fingers crossed they will speed up again :)

We've prepared as much as we can to date, thinking about the logistal nightmare of emptying house (everything has to go!), packing up Child and Dog has been keeping me busy :D

YES! If you search on VJ you will find interviews with ex USCIS adjudicators. Basically our petitions sit in a box collecting dust for 5+ months then they are assigned to an adjudicator. If YOUR specific adjudicator is slow or gets hung up on a few more difficult cases (that require more background checks) that can slow up the process for the files that adjudicator holds. However, that adjudicator SHOULD move on to easier cases while waiting for the check on the more complex cases to come in. All in all, if your case is easy and cut-and-dry the process is 15 minutes on average for an adjudicator to pick up your file, do the necessary checks and approve it. For more info...search the forums for these interviews.

I found one of the interviews I read...I think the other is with one of the big bosses.

Yea, the first few months were better. Now when I see people from 18th July I check to see if I've been approved also, its sad because I know if we've been approved my fiance would get an email and he would have forwarded it to me already lol. I hate weekends now because no applications will be processed, and this monday is also a holiday i believe. I just keep thinking its going to happen sometime in the next 3 weeks, it has to. And thats not so bad compared to the 6 months I've already waited.

Sigh I spend a lot of time tricking my mind into calming down and not focus on this.

The wait is awful. You miss out on so many things you could be doing together.

It is horrible! The days do seem to get longer as the approval of everyone but us happen. I pray every night that this will be the week! Let's hope!

please see the attached raw data downloaded from the USCIS website. As you can see, from January, 2012 through September, 2012 the Vermont Service Center received up to 400% of the applications it completed. This led to a peak in July, 2012 of 56,771 pending applications not awaiting customer action. This is approximately 250% of the 20,000 pending applications that appears to be the average for the Vermont Service Center in the past 2 years.

Estimated processing times for the Vermont Service Center are now stated to be ‘6.2 months’, an increase from 5 months (the previous estimate and USCIS goal). As of October 30, 2012 applications with a received date of May 21, 2012 were being processed. A month later, as of November 30, 2012 applications with a received date of May 28 were being processed. At this rate of 1 week of applications per month, my July 19, 2012 application date would not be completed for 7 more months, a total of 13 months from application date. I find the management of the ratio of applications received to processing completions unacceptable.

Also, filers with applications from Aug 15-Sep are already being approved in local field offices.
