yeah, it sucks...

I checked out our trunk but they hadn't even looked in there... everything was still in there....

they would have had access to the trunk from the car too....

Really? My last Corolla had an extra key for the trunk, which when you turned it, you could permanently lock it from anyone using the lever inside. The downside was one day the key broke inside the trunk lock and we had to get a locksmith just to get to our trunk. :P Sigh...you can't win.

That really sucks, Marilyn.

I had my car broken into (they took my CD's and my kids left their GameBoy in the back) about 4 years ago right in the apartment complex where I was living at the time. There were always a lot of young hoodlums hanging about at night which always made me nervous. In Southern Cali, a car alarm is a necessity, but also if they can see anything valuable inside, they'll even break your window to get it. The worse part is the police really can't do anything for you.

yeah, we think it was some teenagers or something.... we have alot of teenagers that hang out in this neighborhood.....

we are just grateful that they didn't steal the car.... we didn't have insurance on it yet..... we went today to get insurance on the car

Doh... better that it was a petty left vs. an auto wreck...phew. :o

What's the make and model of your car? Most likely it was some young kids, otherwise they would have hotwired your car and taken that instead. I'd highly recommend spending the money for a car alarm unless you're certain the car's not the kind that anyone would steal (Honda Civics, Toyota Corolla's I believe are the highest risk for auto theft).

we actually have a 1997 Honda Accord... like I said we were lucky..... we are considering getting an alarm for the car... we did buy a club today...

Ah, the club is excellent!:thumbs:

yup, I agree  ... I had one for my car back in Canada....

I know they prolly can get around the club nowadays but if there are two vehicles there and one car has the club , they will prolly go after the car without the club.... less hassle

The main problem with the club is that creatures can bypass it by cutting the steering wheel. Better is the kind that clamps to the center portion of the wheel. Also great is a bar that locks onto the brake pedal.

I'd also highly recommend Lojack; greatly increases your chances of recovering your car if it is stolen, and most insurance carriers will give you a discount if you have it. We have a version that alerts us by phone and email if the car is moved.

$400 something, I think... don't have the papers handy at the moment, I'll see if I can locate them and give the exact figure.

That is crappy. I hope karma comes around and kicks them right up the #######.

I feel very lucky and fortunate that I can live in a place where we don't have to lock cars or front doors. It still freaks me out a bit, but I like it.

Stupid animals. Stupid beause stealing a satellite radio is useless (like you said).

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
