Just curious as to my wife's case. Her parents didn't marry until she was into her mid-teens, and then recorded the birth of her and her siblings afterwards. Would this cause any issues if she brings her mother or her father to the US as the parents of a USC. I suspect in the case of the mother, it might raise the same question it did when the wife showed her late registered birth certificate, "Why?" Her explanation was accepted then. But in the case of the father, would that require more proof of the actual relationship, or is the marriage certificate usually enough? Since her parents were married before she turned eighteen is that what they mean by "legitimized" in the instructions for the I-130? Anyone else had a similar experience?

They may ask for a DNA test to show her parents are really her parents (both mom and dad).
