Hi all,

I received my NOA1 about 3 weeks ago, and while I'm girding the both of us for a 3 or 4 month wait until NOA2 (hopefully shorter), I'm wondering if there is anything else that the two of us can be doing from a paperwork standpoint in the meantime?

I'm heading back for another visit to Elena in late December and this will be a good time to bring any further documents with me, or take anything back with me to the States. Should I bring the second copy of the I-129F packet with me at this time?

Thanks for all your help! You're all a great bunch of folks!

Well let's see..... copies of the plane tickets, hotel receipts, take plenty of pictures of you together and with her family and friends, make copies of everything. Sometimes they lose the document or want a copy for something or someone else. Try not to waste any trips, make it as productive as possible this will keep any possible delays to a minimun, This will all add up to speeding up the process time. Check everything before you send it, write clearly and legibly.... above all take your time in filling out any form and read the instructions on how to fill them out, ask questions about those forms here..... and have fun.

I'm just adding to China Rob. He definitely has the right idea. I know that it's premature but I would make sure that your fiance gets her police certificate. My fiancee had to wait almost a month to get it. If she is close to Moscow it wouldn't hurt to go and get her medical done. Check out this website http://moscow.usembassy.gov/consular/consu...cord_id=fiancee scroll down and see the medical exam link. Tells you that it's good up to one year but maybe only 6 months depending on the medical condition of the patient. Get your 156's filled out while your there. And the affidavit of support. Your 134 would be a good idea to get ready and take it to her. And all of your supporting documents. This is your chance to get to her many things. Also if she has some documents to be translated do those for her and you can bring them to her. This guy does good work http://www.russian-translation.ru/index.htm I got like 9 documents translated from Russian to English. Cost me $90. Not too bad considering some place in LA wanted almost $400. Damn American companies..hehe. He did good work and timely fashion. And when it comes to the interview. My fiancee was only asked personal questions. They didn't look at the documents. Just the proof of relationship. And if your fiancee speaks good english tell her to ask them that she wants to do the interview in English. The interviewer told his co-worker that it was nice to see good people going to America (speaking about my fiancee...she rocks !!!!!). Good luck to you !!!

16/10/2006- Interview date- I'm nervous and my fiance is cool calm and collective. And she's the one that has to do the interview.

Aside from that, you can twiddle your thumbs, whistle, twirl your hair aournd your finger, check your status on the USCIS website 5 times a day, gripe about how slow the process is... Oh, and don't forget to visit VJ every day and read all the posts here, (misery loves company :P).
