I was just informed that I need to have the rubella vaccination and measles twice. Is it sufficient if I had them once in 1984 and once again in 2012? Or do they have to be twice within a certain time frame? I thought I was done with the hardest part but the medical is turning out to be a nightmare due to conflicting information.

Is this something you read or the medical staff says you need it? Based on the answers to their questions they can determine if you need what kind of shots. I am sure something in 2012 would not have to be repeated.Only a physician can determine which of the listed vaccinations are medically appropriate for you, given your age, medical history and current medical condition.

I just had my medical, and I did not have any immunization record, because it's been over 30 years since I had any shots. I was given the combo shot for measles/mumps/rubella, and a tetanus shot. That's all the doctor said I needed, and it was done as Medisys in Montreal, who do a lot of these medicals, so I am confident they know what they are talking about. When you go for your medical you can discuss it with the doctor, they will know what you need, don't stress about that. It's the easiest part of this whole process, imho.
