This message to all those who are awaiting the interview date to arrive.... My interview with my fiance was on September 27. We arrived very early just like everybody does. When we got to the window where finger prints are taking, they told us that the package had never arrived. I as a Citizen was able to speak to a consular after so many tries that day. And they told me that they will call me when package arrived that mail is very slow.

Slow maillllll,,,,, yeah right!!!

When i got back to the state, and called the NVC, i found out that package was sent out on July 6. After so many investigations along with help of a very good friend (and a shoulder when I needed it). I found out that the package got lost somewhere on its way to Cuba along with others. After so many calls and beign persistent. The NVC sent a message to the Consulate stating the problem. And I called and they gave him another interview date for October 15.

My advice to all check and make sure ur package is at the consulate. Dont think that just because its been three months assume that ur package is there.

This has been very traumatizing for me. I would not like for this to happen to anyone.

How i found out about package being lost; Example

if the NVC says that package left on July 6. look up dhl tracking by reference

ref: EXP 05 JUL2012A

DATE FROM: JULY 5 THRU CURRENT DATE

COUNTRY: CUBA

AND YOU WILL FIND THE UR PACKAGE, NOT GUARANTEEING IT BUT ITS A START. IF NO PACKAGE HAD LEFT THE DAY BEFORE TRY THE NEXT THREE DAYS (THE MOST)

Hi Mayi,

I’m not sure I understand completely…So Omar was called inside the US Interests Section Building on the September 27 interview date? And he actually made it is a far as the fingerprint window? We had to have the letter from the US Interests Section to get inside the building, then we had to pay the $150 CUC interview fee at a window, before we could go to the fingerprint window. Did you have to pay the fee too?

I’m not positive about this, but they receive your documents electronically there too (before the mail/DHL), and they would NEVER have issued Omar the interview date and Interview Notice without receiving documents from NVC. That’s ridiculous, but we had a similar problem…My fiancé was allowed into the interview without a hitch, but we had two K-2 children that were listed on the interview letter that weren’t even allowed to enter the building. I corralled the Section Chief, after he swore us in, and he was very helpful in scheduling an interview for the boys a couple weeks later…he actually shamefully admitted that this happens to K-2’s at times, because we were apparently supposed to call the scheduling line for each of the 2 boys on separate calls even though we did schedule and give all their information at the same time as my fiance’s info…It was horrible for us, but I can’t imagine they could pull that BS off with the primary K-1 Omar after he was already inside…how horrible for you.

I know how stressful it is, but I think things will work out for you guys in the end…fairly soon. Many people have these unnecessary “setbacks”…I sometimes think they just don’t want it to be too easy. We have the green card interview on October 15 too…pretty nervous here too…We’ll be thinking about you guys.

Best wishes and luck,

Beau & Digna

Believe it honey!!!. I asked the same thing, how did they give me an interview if docs were not there. How did they give him package 3, if docs were not there. But believe it when I say it. He did show his docs at the entrance (office before fingerprints) but when we turned in the docs that we had filled out. they went to look for his package and it was not found. The consulate works in mysterious way. It was a head, but his docs were found, and the electronically part, the consulate wants papers in front of them, not electronically

The whole point was for me to be there at the time of interview, now I won't be able to, can't take anymore time off work... I pray everyday that god puts his hands on him, and that everything goes well. So we can be together soon.

Ay, chica! I am so sorry that happened to you! I have never heard of that happening (especially considering that you were able to schedule the interview/he was able to pick up package 3, etc.). I know that you would like to be there for the interview but I am sure everything will go well for him on the 15th. I hope everything goes smoothly from this point on!
