Is there someone I can contact to follow up on the status of our application? We submitted everything and it was approved on August 13th 2012. We are currently waiting for our NOA2. I keep checking the USCIS website and it still says the exact same thing it has said since I got the NOA1. Should I contact someone or is there a way to speed along the process? Patience is not my strong point.

That sounds normal. It just had been a little over 2 months, right? There won't be any status update online until NOA2. The goal normally for CR-1 is 5-6 months.

Look at the bright side, every day that goes by without an RFE is a good day. Usually the RFE come early in the process.

What visa did you file for? A fiance or spouse visa? At any rate, if you only sent your application to USCIS in August, you're NOA1 was just a notice of acceptance (that they had received it). Depending on where your application is being processed (Vermont Service Center or California Service Center), you're looking at anywhere from 3-6 months before the application will be approved. After that, you're paperwork goes to the National Visa Center for another 1-2 months, then to the embassy to await an interview. It's a long process and you're just at the beginning right now. Fortunately, the longest wait will be at the stage you're in now! Unfortunately, there isn't any way to speed up the process...it is what it is. But I will say, as someone who is near the end of this process, that through everything, it has been worth the wait to be with my husband and soul mate forever. Hang in there!!

I had a friend that got approved in 50 ish days. Usually it takes 5 months. I got approved in 11 days, but because we live outside of the US. They say that when the US Citizen lives overseas the process flies on USCIS.

Mine is being processed thru the Cali. center. From what I have read on here, they seem to be processing them faster than the other service centers. It is a CR1 visa, and my husband is a British Citizen if that helps. Thanks for all the replies, I am going over to England for a couple months in hopes that they will schedule the interview during the time I am there. I sent evrything in and got the NOA1 on August 13th and I am headed to England the beginning of December to the end of January.

Thanks everyone!
