you have money to support the baby and have the spouse not working but not enough money to send the paperwork...

sounds so backwards.

Far from backwards. The money we get from our spouse working is used to support our family. Rent, car, electric, baby food, baby clothes, diapers etc etc...the list goes on, so it is pretty hard to save with only one person working and a family to feed. That isn't very backwards to me...

May 4 2012 - Baby Marcus born!!

March 14 2013 - AOS Application Sent smile.png
March 18 2013 - USCIS received date.
March 25 2013 - USCIS notice date. Receipt #MSC1390000000.
April 13 2013 - RFE Received for Copy of Birth Certificate.
April 18 2013 - RFE Replied.
April 23 2013 - Biometrics.

May 28 2013 - EAD Approved
May 31 2013 - Card production ordered.

June 3 2013 - Card Mailed, expected delivery date June 5.

September 25th 2013 - Became an official resident!!

October 5th 2013 - Green Card Received.

August 24 2015 - I-751 for Removal of conditions received by California Service Center.

August 24 2015 - NOA Receipt Date.

September 24 2015 - Biometrics.

I have the exact same problem! We got married in Feb and I had our baby in May but I still haven't sent in my AOS stuff...just can't afford it. We plan on sending it in December so hopefully, won't cause any problems. I have heard there is no official deadline so you should be okay. Im pretty sure they would understand that we just had babies etc :)

Nice to hear someone is in the same boat as me!!!! Congrats on your baby!!

Not backwards at all. Having a baby makes you want to spend that $1,000 on your baby. We have money saved and a house for sale and are living with my parents until I start working in a few weeks. I am asking a simple question, not for judgement.
