EAD renewal

I read on uscis.gov that the EAD should be renewed 6 months before the original one expires...since the original EAD has to be attached to the renewal app, how are you gonna prove that you are employment authorized while the renewal is being processed? will a copy of the card be sufficient? just wondering...thanks!

ok nevermind, the actual instructions on the form I-765 for renewal says app should be filed at least 100 days before the current card expires and only a copy of the front and back of the last EAD is needed, not the original...i wonder why the info has not been updated in this page:

anyhow, sorry for posting too soon without doing thorough research...hope this helps someone :lol:
