Thought I'd give a warning/heads up to all Norwegian and Danish citizens interviewing at the US embassy in Stockholm for CR-1/IR-1 visas.*

Myself and at least one other member here have received RFEs from the NVC before scheduling our CR-1/IR-1 interviews. These RFEs asked for proof of Swedish residency or citizenship in order to be interviewed in Sweden.

THIS IS AN NVC ERROR.

If you get this, the operator is likely to tell you that a supervisor will look over it, and that the reason may be that some part of your passport biographic data page copy is smudged or otherwise not legible. To my best understanding, this is a scripted standard response. Call every day. If you have not heard anything from the supervisor review after a week, call and ask to speak to a supervisor - This solved my RFE within 24 hours.

This is a very annoying erroneous RFE to get, and can delay your interview by weeks.

*I have not seen this be a problem for K-1 applicants yet.
