This is historically the most accurate presidential poll and includes 100% post debate polling data.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 49% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns the vote from 47%. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate, and two percent (2%) are undecided.

I thought polls were useless. Or is that only when Obama's ahead? I'm confused.

Your not confused . Polls to me depend on their reliability and who did them. Rasmussen has a history of being very accurate and non partisan

He is Republican's favorite pollster. His automated polls do weight the data differently, favoring self-identified conservatives, and you are correct, he does seem to hit the mark more often than other pollsters, even when they are all averaged together.

Romney's problem is that the only real, true toss-up battleground states this year are Florida, Colorado, Ohio and Virginia. Romney needs to win all four, Obama needs to win one of them.

As far as polls go, Rasmussen tends to be partisan but very accurate.

Yeah, but there are 2 more debates to go, plus the chance that Biden will wipe up the floor with Ryan in the VP debate. Obama could pull this out at any moment.

How can a poll that is very accurate be partisan . It is statistically accurate. Now I know from experience limbs hate accurate statics , but to say it is accurate but biased , is a ridiculous statement

Oh, and, as of today...

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows Mitt Romney and President Obama each attracting support from 48% of voters nationwide. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate, and three percent (3%) are undecided.

While there have been modest swings in recent months that have favored one candidate over the other, the overall picture is of a race that is both stable and very close. Over the past 100 days of tracking, Romney and Obama have been within two points of each other 72 times. Additionally, on 89 of those 100 days, the candidates have been within three points of each other. That is exceedingly close in a poll with a three percentage-point margin of error.
