Got my wedding planned in the Philippines, I just want to ask, I will be planning/setting up all the correct documents after the wedding, Is there any documents i should print out and bring to have my Wife's Signature? I' will be doing a Spousal Visa, ... It would just be a pain, having to mail back and forth documents for signatures.

Have a 'bunch' of the passport type made (see specification) of the non-US Citizen spouse. she will need a few later in the process.

Depending on how long your going to stay, NSO Marriage Certificate will take time to acquire. That may be one thing she’ll need mail.

True sorry OP, I totally forgot how slow things move over there. Since it will just be a copy then she could just scan and email it to him. Thanks for the correction :)

Regular registering process of NSO marriage certificates take 6 MONTHS.

It would be better if after the marriage ceremony you personally take the marriage certificate to your Local Civil Registry. That's what I did.

Don't forget to request for an ADVANCE ENDORSEMENT of your marriage certificate so you won't have to wait 6 months to get it.

I got mine 1 and a half months after we got married then I just sent it to my hubby via USPS. (Heard some people got theirs way earlier, depending on the persons handling the document.)

Goodluck!

Kody and Ruth,

Been quite a few years since our wedding in Phils (by the way, great choice - truly one of the greatest experience of my life). Having reasearched as much as I could before making the trip, I did fill up the G-325 forms and carried them with me for her to sign during the visit, but had to redo all of that due to the G-325 form expiring before I could get the petition package submitted. Since I had to depart the very next day after our wedding, my sweetheart was able to have the LCRO authenticate the marriage certificate. Once she had mailed that to me and then soon after the new G-325 form, we were in business. I believe it was about 6-8 weeks after the wedding that I was finally able to mail in the petition. We eventiually did get the NSO marriage certificate to submit to NVC with the visa application, along with loads of additional documents. The entire process seemed like an eternity, but in just under a year she was here. Been having a wonderful time since.

Good luck!!
