Hello everyone! My fiance and I have talked about the possible questions that the USEM may ask during the interview. One of these questions they might probably ask is when will be our wedding day. We're getting married next year but no specific date yet since we are still waiting for our NOA2 to arrive. Is it really necessary to set a wedding date as soon as we receive our NOA2 or prior to our interview?

I don't know if that's necessary, but I've seen posts that they were asked about their wedding dates. We don't have one yet but my fiance and I talked about setting dates once we get our NOA2, not only for interview purposes but also for us to plan our timeline before getting there in God's will :) Best of luck and God bless!

Thanks! :) I think that's a good idea too. For now, my fiance and I are taking it one step at a time. Hopefully our precious NOA2 will come sooner. God bless you! :)

We have not set a date it is hard to plan a weeding on such short notice. What we did do is find a nice wedding chapel about an hour and a half I paid the minister and ask him to write a letter on our behalf.Stating that we have paid him for the service and he will marry us when she arrives.MostCatholic church here want 6 month notice so we will renew our vowels in church after civil wedding. That way everyone is happy and we are well within the 90 timeline

Thank you, Mai and Timmy. Goodluck to you both...October is finally here for you! :)

Our IO liked we had a plan ie; getting married in Las Vegas, but it is impossible (risky) to set an exact date before the visa is issued or purchase tickets.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Just say, within 90 days upon arrival to US as you stated on your Letter of Intent.

Good luck!

1) Just say you'll get married within 90 days, which is the truth

2) We didn't even have a ring - but my fiancee explained that we were going to buy the ring in the US because of a better warranty etc. (which is completely true)

This must be one of those Embassy/Consulate or even IO specific as during my wife's interview the question about the wedding never came up. Maybe our IO was smart enough to realize that we are applying for a fiancee visa and we both signed letters of intent that we would marry within the 90 day period.

About planning the wedding. You typically have 6 months to enter the US after receiving the K-1 visa and then 90 days to get married. That is a period of almost 9 months. Once the visa is in hand you can begin the planning and find a nice place and then have the fiancee come to the US so the timing works out. It took my wife three months to get things in order in her home country before leaving for the US.

Good luck,

Dave
