If our joint sponsor is self employed, are there any other required documents to send with the I-864? My mom, who is our joint sponsor, doesn't have an original employment letter or pay stubs for this reason. Would a letter of explanation be necessary? Thanks!

Normally Required documents from the petitioner for I-864 Affidavit of Support Package

Last 3 years IRS Tax Transcripts (otherwise, last 3 years 1040 and W-2/1099)

Original Employment Letter

Pay stubs (include a few recent ones and a selection from throughout the previous 3 years)

hi there! my father is also a joint sponsor to our petition and he filled out the I-864A form. he is self employed as well and we just sent his 3 years of tax transcripts, a copy of his naturalization certificate, and a copy of my birth certificate showing proof of relationship. i just sent our AOS packet last monday so hopefully everything's ok. good luck! :)

good idea, we'll do that! My mom's one of the slowest people I can imagine when it comes to stuff like this, so fingers crossed that she gets all joint sponsoring stuff off to me in the next week or so. We just got our NOA2 and I've already been on her case for months. grrrrrrrrr...

Thanks again!
