I know you don't look beyong "talking points" and ####### like that, but if you'd actually look at the facts, you'd know that the house has sent many jobs bills to the senate, but it's the senate (Democrat majority) that keeps them from coming up from a vote and holding down the economy.

Those little facts might hurt your dear President too much though in this election if the average person knew it was his party playing the obstructionist role here.

:secret: The senate has this little tradition. They call it a 'filibuster'! It allows the minority party to block any legislation by the majority unless they have a 'super-majority' of 60 votes! It used to be used only rarely but this senate minority under its republican minority leader has used it constantly. Mitch McConnell has even publicly stated that his number one priority for the last two years has been to make Obama a one term president.

This is what is known as a 'fact'! Your statement is better known as BS! :bonk:

Historicaly no president has ever been re-elected with a jobless rate above 8%. So it must be good news to Obama's ears when the Unemployment rate fell to 7.8% this morning for the first time in four years!

The economy created 114,000 jobs.

I did get a raise last month too so I must fit somewhere in that report with wages rising in September! :D

The U-3 unemployment rate used for this report is bhased on jobless claims for unemployment benfits. When a person's unemployment benefits run out they are removed and the "jobless rate" decreases though no one got a job.

Don't believe me? Divide 114,000 (jobs claimed to be created) into the total workforce. There is no reduction in people without jobs. Only in people collecting unemployment benefits.

Why?

Because last August Obama stopped pushing for extension of benefits. At one time he pushed for that, even threatening to shut down the government if it was not extended. Now? Too bad for the unemployed, eh? He needs that bogus number, the U-3 to drop and make him look good.

Still don;t believe me? Check the bereau of Labor Statistics U-6 unemployment rate

But with two more debates to go I expect Romney to hand Obama his head on this issue also.

So a Republican majority house sends a bill to a Democrat majority senate, and it's the republicans fault it fails? I'm new at this politics thing. Maybe they need to friend each other on facebook.

I know, right? The brave House Republicans passed over 30 bills to repeal the job killing Obamacare monstrosity and the Senate hasn't acted on these "jobs" bills. It's an outrage.

To filibuster a bill, it has to reach the floor of the Senate. The Senate has this other little tradition, whereby the Senate Majority Leader, one Senator "Dingy" Harry Reid (D-NV), determines which bills reach the floor.

So why, with the Democratic majority to defeat any bills, does he insist on stalling so many GOP employment bills by preventing them from reaching the floor?

RHIP

(Rank has its privilege) The voters who put Harry and his democratic colleagues in the majority in the senate want it this way! It would just be a colossal waste of time to bring up all the GOP BS for votes! Talk about bridges to nowhere!

Or he is scared that one might get passed and shatter the illusion that it is just the Republicans blocking employment measures in the Senate

I get it. the affordable care act is wrong, because Obama supposedly failed to gain bipartisan support from both parties, but it's okay for the republicans to expect that any legislation they pass in the lower house be automatically passed in the senate, whether the democrats agree or not?

It's worse than that. The Affordable Care Act is Newt Gingrich's 1993 health care reform legislation. Republicans essentially oppose their own reform proposals and then complain about a lack of bi-partisanship on the part of the President. Then they put some icing on that cake by passing 30+ pieces of legislation to repeal their own health care reform proposal and call it jobs bills that the Democrats won't take up.
