Well, the day is finally here!! After 229 days, 2 fees, 1 trip thru the NVC, 2 interviews, 200 printed pages of chat sessions, 2 cases of food poisoning, 1 mugging, 1 motorcycle accident, 1 car accident, 2 birthdays, 4 flights, {not to mention the countless holidays} and a solo valentines day - my baby is in the air and on his way to the mile high city!! Naseer will be here by 5pm today!!

My husbands Admin Review started Nov 8, 2005 and I called the DOS 12-13 times since then to find out our status. My last call was Feb 10th and I was told the same story, “case is still pending.” After being on VJ for the last 7 months, I realized it would still take another 3 weeks at the Islamabad Embassy after the DOS completed its clearances. So once again – I hung up the phone and added 4 weeks to our journey.

You can imagine my disbelief when my husband called me at 5am on Feb 16th to tell me he had just received a letter from the Embassy! They were ready to continue his visa processing and he had to return to re-interview. I thought, there is no way – it was still in the States as of 4 days ago, it must be a mistake. The minute the DOS opened that morning I called to ask the status - and wow!! The case had been returned to the embassy in the middle of January – huh I called 4 times after that date and was told pending! I guess the DOS still tells you “pending” up until the day the letter is actually sent.???

Anyway, we did not have to endure the waiting game at the Embassy and were wonderfully surprised that we had the letter in hand! Within the next 7 days we had a visa in the passport and a plane ticket to the states. WEEEEEEEEHAAAAA!

As luck would have it, I scheduled a conference the week of March 5th in Florida. I have not seen my husband since his interview, it would be so silly to say Hi baby, welcome home, now I’m leaving for a week . I managed (at a lovely last minute fare) to get him a plane ticket to come with me. This will be our official 2nd honeymoon – he is going to be submerged in American Culture full force his first 10 days here.. – yaaa… MargaritaVille, Comedy Clubs, and a Bob Marley -Tribute to Freedom at Universal Studios!! hehehehehehe

After all of this, who would have ever thought my husband would be able to look at his friends and family and say – “Hey, I got my Visa – I’M GOING TO DISNEYLAND”

{ya ya, I know its World in Florida, but you get the idea )

i am happy for you. I am married to an american, we married last june, due to an accident i had to return to Ireland, my wife lost her job due to a car accident (that wasnt our fault) she couldnt afford to keep us. So rather then break the law and try to work i decided to come home. Did ye marry in America? I went to america on a holiday visa with a 3 month limit, we decided to get married, so we rang immigration and they said we could marry. We were together 9 months, the accident happened in October. I came home on the 1st of january. I am hoping to get back to my wife, can you tell me what your husband filed to get to you? All these different form names get confusing.
