Hi!!

How is everyone! Guys I have a problem that I need someone to help me out with. Recently I have sent my I-129F Patition but my fiance and I are thinking if it better and or faster to marry in her country and fill I-1-30? I have friends whos wife came here with the I-130 and they told me it took about 8 months in all but some other have told me it could take up to 2 years. What can you tell me? Thank you for your ideas!

Ca you give us a little more information on your case? Like what country is your fiancee a resident of? It does make a difference because consulates very widely....

My fiance is from the Philippines and will fill in Manila, we want to get together but we are also considering if its best to get married in her country.

Same issues as with your other post about the timing of the K1. It's impossible to know. You might get RFEs. The law might change (like IMBRA which delayed everyone 3+ months). You might get stuck in security checks. There might be a backlog at the NVC or at the Consulate. Check the timelines for K3s in her country and read up on the consulate situation and the wait time for interview - that will give you some comparison.

Alex, If you do a search on the timelines for the Philippines, you will see varying times on both 129 and 130 petitions. There does not seem to be an established procedure or pecking order for processing the Visa's. A rounded average for the 129s is 6-8 months. Once you look at the timelines, u will see some faster some a lot longer without explainations. The sooner you get the proces started the better, but patience is a must with this government process. Hi,

You have already filed for K1 and have actually received your NOA1. Getting married in the Philippines could complicate your application (change from K1 to K3) and could cause delays. Give a thought on this.
