I am just starting the process for my husband who is in Egypt. We have been married n living together since June 2012.

I have a bunch of questions I'm hoping I could get advise on.

1. I will have my mom write an affidavit verifying the marriage/relationship and probably could get one from my father. Is it weird if we don't get one from anyone on his side of the family? Can I find templates or examples of affidavits I could follow?

2. I have about 25 photos. What is the best way to present them? I was thinking glue it to a blank sheet of paper and write descriptions of each photo underneath.

3. Anyone have an example table of contents?

4. Not sure what would be good to include in my letter stating what I am petitioning for. Any examples I could follow?

5. I am in the US now but plan to go back to Egypt in 3 months. What do I need to do to ensure I get all documents at my Egyptian address if after 3 months?

Thank you all so much for your advice.

Welcome :)

I will try to answer each of these questions to best of my knowledge but you might wanna ask someone more experienced....

1.http://www.visajourney.com/content/examples

here you have a bunch of examples for everything, among everything else the AOS from friends and family. Also note that AOS is not obligatory and that all people who will write it are recommended to write it in their own words.I think up to 3 AOS from friends are more than enough

2.You can do that or you can just scan them ( for example 4 photos per page) and add a caption under the photo. Also you can find a tread on this forum from today that explains how to make photo pages easily

3.Table of content is in the attachment. If you don't have enough space on the form itself to put the info you will have an attachment sheet which you should also state in the cover sheet

4.You are petitioning a Form I-130 Petition for Alien Relative on behalf of your husband/wife

5.If you are living in Egypt than you should state your address there in all the forms. Also if you state your US address I think you have an option to change an address after. Also I would suggest you to read the tread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/357465-usc-petitioner-living-abroad/ maybe you will find yourself in this

Hope this helps a little bit.Best of luck

Just double checking...I thought I thought I saw a post that allows you to translate documents yourself instead of going to a certified translator. We are 7 hours away from a certified translator so looking for an alternative for translating our rental agreement. Any advise appreciated. Thank you!

Yes you can translate it yourself and along with that translation you will need to have a sworn statement saying that this and this person is fluent both in english and the other language, signed and dated.I think you can find an example in the link I gave you in the last post
