Woke up this morning for fajr and been up ever since. The kids are with their dad for the weekend so no chance in my waking them up. I love waking up that early. Never used to lemme tell ya!!!!

Going to my first "women's circle" today at the mosque. Actually it'll be the first time in a mosque even so that will be good. Raining cats and dogs here though and is going to be very windy. Hope I'm not the only one there!!!

Then I'm going to get fitted for contacts. I really hope they have my prescription in stock too 'cause I can't wait to not wear glasses anymore. I have not worn contacts since my first was born ten or so years ago because I developed astigmatism but now they have contacts for that so I'm so excited!!! I wanted to get the blue kind to bring out my blue eyes but Usama said please no because he wants to see my eyes as they are naturally. He hates makeup too but I still do some concealer here and there.

Have a good one everyone!

Good morning-

Henia - so glad you are having a great honeymoon!

Doodlebug - my first time in a mosque was a few weeks ago - Just kind of showed up at an Iftar and told a the first person I saw that I wanted to learn more about Islam  They were shocked, but introduced me to some wonderful women. I look forward to hearing about your trip.

The weather is pretty awful here as well. Saturdays I volunteer at my hospital with a program for overweight kids. They come to the hospital, get a nutrition lesson, then we "personal train" them for an hour in the physical therapy gym. Normally we also get a game of kickball in but I don't think we'll be going outside today :-)

After that its study study study.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Well that was a total bust.

Looked forward to this woman's study all week. Got up, forced myself to get out of the house 'cause it's so gross out and 'cause I'm so nervous. Went there and tried every door of the mosque and each was locked tight. Thought to myself, you came this far, try harder, so I banged on each door. Still nothing.

:(

Came home in tears because it is very hard to be the only muslim in the neighborhood.

:crying:

Called them and left a message to ask what the deal is.

I used to hate that about Catholic churches...that they were always always locked up tight unless it was time for mass. I thought Mosques would be different but I guess not. I was looking forward to going there anytime I needed peace to pray but I guess that is out of the question too.

I'm in a bad mood now and my house is a complete mess so I guess I'll put all this negative energy towards cleaning it.

Doodle, you are so lucky to have the house to yourself to clean! I woke up at 5:30 but laid there and did my homework in my head so I wouldn't wake anyone up. When my oldest son got up to get ready for work I was finally able to get up. I still can't make noise (well I could but I won't) because Abdel sleeps late on the weekend. His job is so physical this is his time to let his body rest.

I will do my homework and some scanning and work on finding the living room under the remains of the renovation mess. I never knew I had so much junk until it all got piled in the living room and now I have to go through it all.

Oh yeah, I also have to go outside regularly to see if the cat is ready to come back in yet. He isn't allowed out but he squeezed past the dog when I was bringing her in this morning. Last time I checked he was hiding behind the brush pile along the back fence meowing loudly. Hopefully his tummy will bring him back in soon.

Good Saturday morning everyone! I was in a very light sleep after 5:30. Just could not get beck to my REM until it was like ten minutes til I had to wake up for work. It's windy and raining here. Not to bad, but still just yucky! I'll be here til 12 then my husband is picking me up to go home and get ready for my interview. I am hoping I do well with that. I never was great at interviews, just okay. After that we are going to do a little shopping for a few items we need for my birthday dinner tomorrow night. I am going to start on the preparations for my B'stilla tonight while my hubby is at work. Then we are going to one of his co-workers wife's birthday party. I think it will be fun.

Tomorrow morning we will wake up bright and early to go do a little more shopping for food and go buy a web cam and a microphone so we can talk to the family. We have to pick up my birthday ice cream cake around 12:30 and then we will hang out at the house with my dad and watch the E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles game! Of course I will be cooking and cleaning while we are watching, but I am sure the TV will be loud enough for me to hear it in every room. Then our guests should be arriving around 7 to eat and hang out. I am hoping some of my guests aren't expecting and alcohol because we don't drink and even if we did, we wouldn't in front of my dad. Anyway, it's looking like it's going to be a good night. I have about 9 people that are going to be coming over.

Well It's getting a little busy here today. I have to get going. I hope everyone has a good day and a great weekend!

Henia- Have a good honeymoon!

Jess- I hope everythning is well with you and George.

Good Morning from New York!!!

Woke up with a phone call from my baby. He is working so hard this past week, double shifts at work.

It's Saturday and raining. Perfect day to sit in my PJ's, drink a cup of coffee in my favorite mug and chill out.

Once I am fully awake I am getting dressed and doing my laundry, then grocery shopping and should get my oil checked on my car. Actually I should have the car looked at first.

This weekend I think will be the last one that I can really relax. The next couple of weeks at work are going to be crazy. It's very busy this time of year. I work for a large brokerage firm and all of our new clients want to be opened and running before year end.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! Can we say STRESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

Here's to all of you for a relaxing weekend

Finished my coffee, shower, laundry, all that good stuff and now just watching the wind blowing the leaves around outside. Looks like its still wanting to rain. I'm trying to decide what I want to do today so maybe nothing at all. Work says the OT is indefinite, most likely lasting the next few months, and its making me much more lazy on the weekends. The week doesn't afford me much personal time. I suspect my lazy weekends will just get more lazy as time rolls by.

I have so much I want to say here, but just can't manage to do it.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Hope everyone's having a good Saturday today.

Doodle I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Were there cars in the parking lot? I've run into that too. I told you about the only one I actually went to but I tried to go to a few others and they were always empty and locked tight... and not ONE in MY town  so I drove all the way into the city for nothing.

This is why Yousuf and I want to move to a different city when he's here. He's thinking TX -- I'm thinking PA  I'm not sure I can take the heat of TX.

I get jealous when I see other sisters talking about all the masjids near their homes and Arab/Middle Eastern stores on every corner... abaya and hijab shops... Islamic bookstores...

Oh well! Good luck finding one and be careful with those contacts!!!! I used to wear them but I scratched my eyes a few years ago and when they finally healed I tried wearing them again and now they always irritate my eyes... they dry out almost immediately and I can barely see with them.. I mean I can see but I can't read well with them and I have stigmatism too.

Henia!!!!! welcome back ukhti!!! I haven't seen you posting much lately!!!! Don't blame ya much

When I go to Libya I wanna see the Sahara too... they do tours in Libya of the Sahara and from the pics it's beautiful :D I'm thinking being married to a local it shouldn't be so hard to get a visa right?:lol: Anyway, I'll be checking your Yahoo page for those pics so get them up ;)

Hope everyone else has a good rest of the day.
