Hi all,

I'm also an October 2012 filer. Sent on 10/22 and got the NOA on 10/29. The online status, like others have talked about, mentions an alien registration number and initial processing. My fiancee's from Japan and I got to see her over there during the holidays, but definitely hoping for a smooth and somewhat painless process so I can see her again soon!

I am almost one year on this website ( the best site ) collecting information. I sent my package 31 october but it reached them 02 november ,

So i guess that makes me a OCTONOV filer, but I want to call it OCTOBER ! :D sounds better :)

I wish everyone good luck on their journey

my story is kinda different, me and my fiancé both live in belgium(EUROPE) she is an american because of her father so she has the us pasport and us family in florida , we both filed in the k1visa and both sent it to usa , after we will receive our NOA2 immediately we will search for a house to rent, but we are already checking a house to rent and there are a lot of possibilities .. lets hope everything'll be allright !!

I wish everyone GOOD LUCK !! my october family

when is the best time to call up uscis to ask for a tier 2 rep, and ask for service request? if i got my noa 1 on oct. 4, 2012, and per igor's list the case might be adjudicated bet april 12 and april 17? should i call april 4th (which is the 6th month since i received the NOA1) or wait about a week or two after we reached the 6th month mark before calling USCIS? thanks.

I would wait two weeks. Give them some kind of grace period.

My case status has the following message:

Expect a 30-45-day delay between when your application or petition is filed and when your information is available in Case Status Online, depending on the volume of applications USCIS receives.

Perhaps related to system maintenance per rickalamo02 message above...

I read where someone called for a service request and received a notice saying to wait another 120 days before inquiring again. And this was after 6 months pending already. That means waiting 10 months total. Review K1 forum here for the post.

This message is just notifying applicants who have recently submitted applications and received NOA1s that their case status may not appear online for 30-45 days. The message is displayed for everybody.

Yeah, I had wanted to file in Sept but was late getting some original documents so filed in mid Oct. I was trying to have it where she and her son would arrive here July/August so they would be getting here while it was hot out for Indianapolis and they could adjust to the colder weather a little at a time. Now it seems they may not get here till Sept/Oct. I can see them getting off the plane in 40 or 50 degree weather............LOL.
