I used that link to check my case and this is what it says:

Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center

I didn't get an interview date from NVC. Do they do that?

Dee&Tino,

The message you received is another way they try and make us as confused as possible. They believe that if we fully understood everything...that they would be out of a job - LOL :-).

As stated in a previous post...NVC is primarily about processing immigrant visas (and NOT non-immigrant fiancee visas). As such...the message you received assumes you were seeking an immigrant visa. For immigrant visas, the appointment process is completely different - and is done solely through NVC. After the immigrant visa appointment is set, the case is sent to the Embassy. So. the message you received assumes you applied for an immigrant visa (which you didn't) is their way of saying that NVC is done with your case - and to speak with the Embassy if you have further questions.

So...yes...NVC needs to get their act together and send out messages that accurately reflect both immigrant and non-immigrant visas. So...go ahead and get your interview scheduled by doing whatever your Embassy requires to schedule your interview. Since you have not yet received the Embassy package, you may be able to find the contents of the package on the Embassy site (or links to it in the VJ Forum for your country).

Thanks for keeping us posted on your progress as we are all in this together.

Once again, Thank you Winelight. I really wish NVC and USCIS would take the time to fix these errors and stop making most of us confused. I am even confused about the type of visa that we are petitioning for. I've read that k1 visa is technically a nonimmigrant visa but they also refer to it as immigrant visa.... Why not just make it one or the other?

I had all the information I would need stored on my computer. I found websites and different forum posts that relates to my fiance's country. I saved them in my favorites folder but a couple weeks ago I had to restore my computer to factory settings. I forgot about those until now when i need them but it's not too hard to figure out so I'll be doing it all over. My fiance don't own a computer and don't like technology (weird) so that makes things harder for me... Also when I asked him to call the embassy yesterday he ended up using all his minutes without being able to speak to someone.... So frustrating

Yes...it is true that they refer to the fiancee visa as both immigrant and non-immigrant. Maybe they are confused themselves - LOL.

Because NVC is primarily about immigrant visas...they focus on this...and then throw in "fiancee visas" as an aside in the midst of a category defined as "Immigrant". It's nuts! You are correct in that they should never ever speak of fiancee visas in the same context as immigrant visas.

The "proof" that fiancee visas are, in fact, non-immigrant visa is evident in that immunizations are not required for the K-1 visa...but all immigrant visas require proper immunizations. Just the same as a tourist to the US is not subject to the list of required immunizations...so it is with K-1 fiancees. (Note: Not saying to refuse the vaccinations before the K-1 visa as you WILL have to get these vaccinations before you adjust status after you marry in the US). So...my point is that the K-1 is not treated like an immigrant visa....because it ISN'T an immigrant visa.

rofl.gif @ Maybe they are confused themselves. They sure do know how to make us "go fishing" (search for info). Thank you for clarifying that. I plan on communicating with and finding out information from the embassy by email until my fiancé get package 3.

You will set your own interview date on your local embassy.

Thank you pagong. I am going to do that as soon as they respond to my email.

Just my opinion, but it sounds like they are FINALLY starting to give you special treatment. When I entered a Service Request, I was told 30 days. SO...15 days sounds like they have a real plan to escalate your case. I got a reply one week after my e-Request (same as a Service Request to USCIS). I hope you receive similar results...or faster.

That said...they should have responded in 60 days to your RFE if they were doing their job...so I'm not defending USCIS here. Many of us have gone beyond posted or promised response times...including me.

Please let us know what happens in your case.

I really hope you are right. Im feeling encouraged. Thank you. Will let y'all know

That's good madison925 because Winelight is right. I was told 30 and 60 days as well but it sure didn't take that long so you should hear something soon.

As for me, the embassy in my fiancé's country received my case today and I was told by email that they will schedule interview as soon as they receive either a mailed or emailed DS-230 from usdancin5hr.gif

NVC sent my case on the 15th and Jamaica got it today, the 17th. That is fast! They were also speedy with response to my email. I emailed on Friday and got response today so I'm happy about this part going faster.

Madison don't worry. You are way closer to getting NOA2 now... after you do I think you will feel better as things seem to go faster.

Received confirmation from VSC about our service request, will it make a difference now? Or it's just a confirmation? We're waiting for 64 days now since RFE

I'm not sure if this makes a difference or not. I will say that a Tier 2 rep told me that they have an internal goal to reply within 2 weeks. Another person said 3 weeks. But all of this was for a case with no RFE...and the "official" response time was given as 30 days.

Honestly, I'd expect you will get a decision any day now.

My fiancee is scheduled for her Embassy interview July 1st in Manila. My concern is that they tell you to complete the medical exam a week before the interview. Because she is on her monthly period now...she will only be able to begin her medical exam 3 days before her interview (they cannot complete the medical until her period is finished). I don't suspect this will be a problem...but if someone has info on this...let me know.

I will let everyone know what happens.

i guess the best thing she can do is as soon as she's done with her period she can do it, just to be sure that she has a good time allowance. Or if she really do 3 days before the interview, make sure to let SLEC know that her interview is near. Keep us updated. Nice to hear your progress.

Thanks madison925. Yes...your suggestion is a good one...and I plan to take your advice. I need to have her in Manila ready to have the medical exam the morning she is finished with her period. We may be able to shave a day off of our timetable...giving her 4 business days before the interview. It's the cost of an additional night in Manila...but a small price to pay for peace of mind in all of this.
