Good morning October 2012 K1 filers. The journey continues and I pray everyone is doing well. My sweetheart is visiting me for the Christmas holiday. She is here on her tourist visa. She had zero problems entering the US via the Atlanta airport. She carried a complete copy of the I-129F package I filed. When she entered the US they asked what was the reason for her visit and of course she told the truth. She also had her return airline ticket. She asked the custom official if he wanted to see a copy of the I-129F package and he smiled and said no and for her to have a great visit. It is great having her here but will be sad when she goes back to Mexico City in a few weeks. I plan on flying to Mexico City to see her in February. We like everyone on here are looking forward to getting the K1 approved and getting married. God bless everyone and God's speed.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I'm so late in joining this group! My fiancee (USC) filed our K1 petition on October 23 and we received our NOA1 on November 1. Also, just yesterday our case status was finally updated on the USCIS website, saying that on November 6 the Alien Registration number has been changed relating to our petition. Not sure exactly what that means lol, but we are excited to be seeing some progress! Thanks everyone for all the help and guidance on here!

My case is now online. It took a month and a half, but it's appearing now!

Vermont service center, btw.

Just wondering what your case status looks like. Our status appeared now too, stating that the alien registration has changed regarding our I-129F, Petition for Fiance. Just wondering if this is common. I have seen some others post similar responses on here as well. Thanks!

We are Vermont service center, too

The status looks the same as yours: alien registration changed regarding I-129F. In the "Initial Review" stage.

Looks to be pretty common.

I just checked mine two nights ago and brought up the status right away.

My problem is I misplaced/lost my hard copy of the NOA1. I have the email still but do I need that hard copy for her interview in Manila?

Still paitently waiting till mid March, then I will start to worry.

Hi Greg,

I can now check my status on uscis.gov. It's under 'initial review'. However it also says my Alien number has changed. Can you confirm your case?

Hi my October filers, is there anybody god NOA2, maybe B-) ?

Unfortunately, that question might be answered only after four+ more months. :(

hi co October filers.. can i get some tips/advice from you guys? i'm thinking of whether i should go back home to visit my fiance in the Philippines, either in time for his interview or before that. i have a feeling we might be RFE'd - maybe i'm being cautious bordering on paranoia  anyway, i first met him here in the US in 2011 and we went out several times, but we did not take pictures of our outings since he was just courting me then. we finally had our picture taken when i went to his sister's house on the day he was about to fly back home. after he got back, we continued to keep in touch through viber, text messages, fb until we made it official in june (after 6 months of courtship). then we met each other again in august in hk and macau - we got engaged then. this time we took pictures and included these in the packet i sent to the USCIS this october. i was planning to visit him in january but then our hospital has issued blocked off dates in january till feb.16 because we will be updating to a new computer system. we won't be allowed paid time offs during that period. so, this is my situation and my mind is wandering and wondering on when best to visit him. also i'm just counting on the generosity of my coworkers who tole me they were willing to give up some of their vacation time should i need it. in short, our unit does not have that much vacay time for the staff coz we're a small unit and we don't have a lot of staff as well. i do hope for the best possible outcome. and i count on your support - please feel free to offer me some advice. thanks in advance and good luck to all of us on our journey. btw, he got here because of a humanitarian parole visa (he was going to donate his kidney to his aunt but then his aunt died not long after he arrived here).

Many many K-1 couples who went through the U.S. Embassy Manila met face-to-face only one time and had no problem with visa approval. You've met face-to-face twice. The USCIS won't give you an RFE based upon that issue. However, you could get an RFE for some other reason. Do you have someone who could check your mail while you're in 'Pinas just in case you get an RFE?

In my opinion, the best time for you to visit would be for his interview. When the petitioner attends the interview in Manila, visa approval is almost always a slam dunk.

Hi everyone,

My name is Laura I'm new to the forum. I used the forum to prepare my I29f packet and decided it's now time to become a member. I just sent off the I29f packet on October 2 to petition for my fiance from Peru. I'm feeling very nervous about the process, second guessing myself about the packet I mailed off, and anxiously awaiting the NOA1. It would be nice to meet people who are also just beginning their K1 journey so we can help each other through these crazy times! :)

Best regards,

Laura

p.s. if any experienced members have any advice on how to cope with the anxiety of the process I would appreciate any advice I can get! I'm a university student in my final year of studies and I'm having a terrible time remaining focused on my studies! Why not just buy a one way ticket to Peru??!

we filed our packet i think October 10, and we received NOA1 last october 16, 2012 but until now we still are waiting for NOA2. it's just longer for you because you filed it in TCS, while we are in CSC. But prolly unlike your case, we are hoping it'll be way faster since i was 18 weeks pregnant now, and we are having fears that i wouldn't make it there. well i hope the best for all of us =)

Hi everyone,

My name is Mitch and my fiance is from the Philippines and her name is Darl. I just sent off the I-129F package this month and have a NOA1 date of October 17, 2012. Now it's the long waiting game at the VSC. Good luck on our journey's. This is an excellent site.

if you filed it in CSC, we may have the same time for everything since my NOA1 is dated october 16, 2012. i wish the best of luck for both of us. =)

Just chill and let the process unfold in it's own time. Don't check your status and ignore Igor's list too. It's a waste of time and energy. Your magical day will arrive when you least expect it, and it will be worth the wait.
