You don't have to call, you can track your case on line. I got mine 3 days after I recieve my case number.

I'm a bit confused with this post. How can someone find their NVC case number online? I only know that you can call to see if NVC has received the petition and assigned a case number. I did see in the link you sent on how to track your case...but it seems to assume you already have a case number. I'm sure I'm not understanding something here...so please help me understand.

Salamat po.

Ohhhh sorry. I thought you have your case number already. That's to track your case on the embassy stage. Just keep calling nvc til they finally give your case number. As I said earlier, you can ask your fiancé to pay the bpi fee so even if you get your case number on Friday afternoon til Sunday you still can set your appointment. :)

Salamat po.

Nvc usually say that it takes 15 working days, but we still call the nvc 2x a day starting on our 5th day. Yes, they gave it exactly on our 15th day. Your timeline is not updated so its harder to give an estimate date.

No need to call the Embassy. The USCIS "forgot" to add the words "via NVC". So...yes...it IS going to the Embassy...but by route of NVC. Or maybe someone at USCIS does not know the process - LOL.

I would call NVC after 12-15 days to get your case number.

I think they like making us go crazy Winelight. They know that if they don't say it's going to NVC first people will get confused so why write it that way? Smh. Again, thank you for your help :-)

Good luck with your exam pagong and thank you for the link. I read the other posts about the misunderstanding so i will call nvc for the number and then use that link later. I will be at least 1000xs happier when this part of the process is over (when my fiance get the visa in hand). Let us know how your exam and interview go when the time come

Btw, expect different answers from uscis and nvc. On the 10th day nvc said they don't have our packet yet so we called uscis. They said they have forwarded it to nvc already. That's why I'm si happy getting our case number in the 15th day.

Thank you and best of luck.

I see some of us have a fiancé(e) in the Philippines. Maybe you already know of this link (below). If not...it is a good reference for what needs to be done after NOA2 to obtain your K-1 visa:

Guys!

I am an oct. 4 Filer. was approved last month.

Question is: How long does it stay at the NVC? it has been almost 2 months. The average is said to be 4 days. . . ???

WHat is going on?

Based on what NVC told me (and also Pagong's recent experience)....it should take about 15 days from your approval date for NVC to receive the approved petition from USCIS and assign a case number. The estimate of NVC holding it for about 4 days (from the time they receive it) sounds about right.

You can call NVC and ask them about status. This is always a good idea as I have heard of some that did not receive anything by mail (lost in the mail???).

The best to you.
