Hello to everyone here. I have been reading all the postings from this site for several months and it has been a huge help both with the technical aspects of the process and of course with the mental attitude.

I joined today so that could relate our story and hopefully help others, as we were helped from the postings on this site. Today we received our NOA 2, notice of approval!

Here is the time line

05 OCT 2012 - SENT APPLICATION TO DALLAS

11 OCT 2012 - RECEVIED NOA 1 CASE REFERRED TO VERMONT OFFICE

11 DEC 2012 - FILE UNDER REVIEW - THIS INFO WAS FROM USCIS SITE

23 MAY 2013 - SENT E-REQUEST FOR INFO ON STATUS

30 MAY 2013 - RECEIVED STATUS REPORT SAYING CASE IS PENDING CONSIDERATION - AND THAT THE FILE IS WITH AN OFFICER

31 MAY 2013 - APPROVED

01 JUN 2013 - RECEIVED EMAIL NOTICE

TIME FROM NOA 1 TO NOA 2 WAS 232 DAYS

We had some concerns when we saw approvals on more recent applications, but thanks to everyone on this forum we stayed relatively calm. I can't say that the timing on the E Request for status update and the approval were related, but it does seem to be more than just coincidental. To all those still waiting - note that the 5 month posting is the average, so there are obviously more than just a few that are over the 5 month mark. The graphs show Vermont processing at 193 days. Once again thanks to all for the encouragement and information. Our best wishes for success to all.

Blaser,

Thanks for sharing your story and details. Glad you were inspired to contribute after reading site postings.

Congrats on your NOA2...yours took a few days longer than mine...so I don't feel so bad now :-). Still...I DO feel bad for those that are still waiting.

Heartfelt congratulations to both of you. As I said to you last week, "I do believe you will hear something from USCIS in less than one month from your e-Request" as e-Request cases have been getting 2-3 week turnaround per officers I spoke with. I am certain your visa interview will go well as you are already preparing for this.

Take care my friends...and God Bless.

I have tried a thousand times but the page will not let me, it says because I still within processing times,VSC still shows as being processing October 15 and earlier!!

Sounds like the USCIS is confused. The USCIS stats show you as outside of normal processing times at 5.5 months for VSC. So, they probably need to update the date in the e-Request system for VSC before it will allow you to enter an e-Request. They need to bring the e-Request system in sync with their posted processing times. I'd guess it is an oversight on the part of USCIS.

That said, I have been told that a Tier 2 officer can enter an e-Request for you. You have to call USCIS...and tell the Tier 1 that you are outside normal processing times...and that you need a Tier 2 to assist you in making an e-Request.

You may have to wait on the phone for a while...but it may be worth it. The last few people I know that did this got approved within 1 to 3 weeks of the e-Request. Hard to say if the e-Request was the reason...but it cannot hurt.

Let us all know what happens Sal.

Congratulations Dee and Tino!! I hope I am next!!

Thank you very much SAL_R! I truly wish I was saying congratulations to you now as well but don't worry. Remember I was in your shoes a few days ago so therefore I believe you will be in my shoes again shortly. I know this process can be quite stressful especially if you are like me (terrible with long distance relationships) but just try to do whatever you can to stay busy and get through the long days.

I agree with Winelight that even though the website won't let you do eRequest calling customer service and speaking with tier 2 will do the trick. I had tried doing eRequest online and got the same message about my case not being outside normal processing time (even though they were processing cases within 5 months at the time). I decided to try calling, waited the 30 or 60 minutes and got service request ticket openned. I called so many times that it's hard to remember which representative did what but I'm almost positive that my service request was done by tier 1 after a short period of waiting on the phone and the 60 minute wait was for tier2 when I called to see if they knew why I was still waiting (SHORT WAIT lol) after submitting the service request ticket. Either way, when you call just let them know what you'd like to do and if tier 1 can't do it then they'll transfer you to tier 2 who certainly can.

I will pray for you, Goodluck.

Thank you Winelight!

You were right again. I certainly hope with all my heart that you are right about the interview also because if not that would just be completely devastating. Anyway I will let you know the outcome like I said in secret7vf.gif

Take care also. You truly acted as a friend. I wonder if the immigration specialist at my congressman's office had anything to do with it... I have no idea but I'm still glad I took your advice on that.

God bless you too friend.
