Winelight i forgot to ask you if whatever representative popup after i put in my zipcode using the link you provided yesterday is the person i need to contact regarding my petition. Is it?

Correct...that is the Congressman to contact. You should be able to click on the Congressman's name (a link) to get to the Congressman's website. (otherwise, Google the name for the correct website). There should be a "Contact Us" on the webpage. Just call them...but I can promise you that you will not get to speak with the Congressman himself) or herself - LOL. They all have an Immigration specialist that they will pass you to.

Thank you Adriana&Karel

Winelight your information is very helpful. Yes my petition for my fiance is definitely pass expected processing time. I called yesterday and they told me that they cannot do or tell me anything since I made request ticket on May 14th which they responded to with email and letter. I believe one response said to wait 30 days before contacting them again while the other said to wait 60 days. Waiting 60 days means waiting until July which is very hard at this point but I am going to try doing another request on the USCIS website like you suggested. I tried once before but it wouldn't let me... Said that my petition was not outside the normal processing time (it was).

If you made an e-Request May 14, you may be locked out from an additional e-Request for 30 days... (or more???)...but this does not stop your Congressman from making an inquiry.

The e-Request acknowledgment page says to wait 30 days after you submit a request....but a Tier 1 rep gave me a specific date that was about 2 weeks from the date of my e-Request. Also...a Tier 2 rep told me that it is 30 days, but they have an internal goal to respond within 14 business days (3 weeks???). In either case...both USCIS reps gave dates that were less then 30 days.

Hope it goes fast for you!

I will continue to follow this October thread for a while longer...even though I'm approved... to be helpful in any way I can. People were very helpful to me...and I cannot help but do the same for my October brothers and sisters.

Lol I imagine I will not get to speak to the congressman himself although that would be nice. Thank you for looking out for others the way others looked out for you (not many people would do what you're doing). You are right, when I tried to do eRequest the website wouldn't let me. The number that I received from doing the ticket via phone with tier 1 rep popped up also and the notification said that I need to wait 30 days from May 14 before I will be able to submit another request. I was hoping to hear something within a month's time of getting that Alien registration number was changed... message on April 30th but looks like I hoped in vain. Anyway, I will now go back to the link you gave me and find the telephone number so that I can contact my congressman's office and speak with their immigration specialist. I didn't realize that I should be contacting them by phone. I was directed to a page that allowed me to send an email so I did that without mentioning specifics about my case. I basically just asked for contact information for someone who would be able to help with immigration issues. I only received what seemed to be automatic response thanking me for contacting them so far so most likely they probably take a while to respond to emails.

You can respond through the page to send a message...or by phone. It's just that you get noticed more with a phone call. I tried writing through a webpage...but did not get a reply from the congressman's office for several days. I got same day action when I called...as they immediately called CSC on my case. Now...they will likely ask you to fill out something and send it to them if they plan to investigate deeper. For example...they may need you to complete and sign an authorization form to represent you. This would not be the case if you simply send a message through a webpage (or they may delay asking you for this authorization if you wrote to them through the webpage). In a word...it is easier to get prompt action when you have them on the phone...and they can immediately tell you all that you must do. My Congressman had 500 cases in front of mine. It was only when I called that I got immediate action.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have additional questions. I do believe you will hear something from USCIS in less than one month from your e-Request.

Â

I just got a message from USCIS that my petition is approved...and NOA2 is in the mail. I'm numb from waiting so long (229 days since NOA1) that I don't even know what to do...or how to celebrate. Well...I expect my smile will get bigger and bigger each day now. I think I will go out for dessert tonight :-).

Â

NOA1 was Oct 11...and no RFE. It just took a very long time. I did an e-Request last week...and had my Congressman call CSC. Not sure if this made a difference or not. If you have anything complicated about your case (I had to submit an IMBRA waiver), don't be surprised if your case takes several weeks longer to adjudicate.

Â

All the best to the remaining CSC and VSC filers (Am IÂ the last CSC filer in this thread...with the exception of RFE's?).

Â

Take care and God bless to all.

Whew! I'm so glad that everything went well. Congrats my vj friend. :) who knows I might be bumping to ur fiancée. :)

Yes...who knows?

She is in a Province 3 hours outside of Cebu. Let me know when you have an Interview date in Manila. Maybe her date will be around the same time as your date...who knows?

All the best to you my friend. Ingat amiga.

You are absolutely right! I called my congressman's office this morning and the lady I spoke to asked me to go online, print out consent form, fill it out and fax it to her. I did that and called her right after. She said that she'll get back to me as soon as she's able to look into my case. She also said that it is a process and that the fax should be in her pile. For some reason I did not like those comments. I feel like "it's a process" is now being overused by almost everyone everywhere when I talk about my case and when she mentioned her pile I started thinking that she was trying to say there's a lot of people ahead of me that she needs to help. I can only hope to be as lucky as you were to have an inquiry done for you inspite of the 500 cases that were ahead of you. Anyway, I do feel better now that I have had your help in going for what me and my fiance desire. I will definitely ask you if I have additional questions and I'm really really hoping to get NOA2 before June 14th.

My fiancé who is the petitioner called USCIS hotline today and talked to a robot like human being, she just stated everything in the script, so, we asked for a Tier 2, there was a 75 min wait however, there is an option for you to hang up and they will call you back so, he did that. They did call back around 60 min later and my fiancé gave the receipt number and noa1 date, by the way, we have an October 3, 2012 NOA1 and received a RFE on April 9, 2013 and received they acknowledge that they received our reply April 17, 2013. So, the Tier 2 just told us it's in "initial review" so my fiancé asked for specific details and she said "Sir, initial review is initial review, thanks for calling USCIS, bye" and then she's gone. Wow!! My fiancé asked politely but I guess she's just rude. It's been 6 weeks already since they received our reply. :(

This is so scary to read!!

Here I am thinking that my RFE was a ray of sunshine and that I would be approved within days of me sending in my response...but now I have read all of these things and have become completely bummed out again.

My NOA1 was 10/22. I got my RFE on 5/15 and they received it on 5/22. I was missing the signatures on the letters of intent. That's it. :"0(

The bittersweet part of it all is that the original plan (thinking we'd be approved by now) was that since I work in education and I have summers off, I'd spend the summer in Dominican Republic. We would have our interview, celebrate with our friends, enjoy our summer, return to the US together and get married before the summer would end. Now...I'm going to spend two months with him, yet I'm already dreading the fact that I cannot believe that I will have to say good-bye to him yet again. When this should have been the beginning of the rest of our lives, is turning out to be just an over drawn vacation with each other that will end in a tearful good bye like every other. It's devastating.......

Don't worry, it's a case to case basis, your case is different than mine, although my rfe was just my fiancé missed one page of the divorce decree, which is pretty easy, but don't lose hope. We will all be approved soon. Edited by madison925

Yes, it's a case by case thing. We got our NOA2 6 days after they received our RFE. Although I consider myself blessed because of this, I've seen quite a few people with the same time frame as mine.

Don't let yourself down and keep checking the website smile.png
