Another October NOA2 (VSC) this morning! Looks like the last few approvals for VJ members have been clearing out some August/September apps (some with RFEs) but of the 8 NOA2s listed for October, 5 of them were not expedites. Good news for October filers at VSC, I hope. And, good luck to all October filers!!

Does anyone in this group know why K1 processing times are so long...especially at the California Service Center (CSC)? The processing time for NOA1 to NOA2 at CSC lengthened from around 120+ days (in Oct 2012) to 219+ days according to the current VJ timeline. Even USCIS lengthened its processing time estimate for CSC from 5.5 months to 6.6 months. As I recall, USCIS has a national goal of 5 months.

I know there is little that can be done to accelerate the K1 petition process, but maybe a bit of comfort can be found if we simply understood "why".

I hope it's okay if I'm posting this in several threads, just to get it the maximum possible attention (If not, just let me know and I'll stop/remove them if possible). We're planning to send letters to the director of service centers at the USCIS, in the hope of speeding up the process. Primarily the focus is the CSC, but VSC filers could send them too, the more we have, the better.

If you haven't seen the thread regarding sending letters to the Director. Head over here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/421413-how-many-supporters-are-here/page__st__60

We're hoping to send letters to the Director starting Monday 1st April. We have a template letter which can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TkQGEsuhb9-THqopSCVcNGESQEJSR1hKEQGjo5iPEj0/edit but you're welcome to write your own personal one if you wish.

Hopefully by flooding the director with letters showing our disapproval of the unacceptable wait time, something will be done to stop it spiraling more out of control than it already has.

Thanks.

K1 Timeline:

15th Feb 2013 - Mailed I-129F to CSC
21st Feb 2013 - NOA1

4th Jun 2013 - NOA2

7th Aug 2013 - Medical

5th Sep 2013 - Interview

4th Dec 2013 - POE SFO

Aaaargh! Getting so impatient for news now. Just hoping like mad that we don't get an RFE! I don't think we will, but there's always the worry..

Did anybody else read this post? I hope this doesn't apply to us :(

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/421912-uscis-announced-today-1-year-timeline-for-k-1-apps/

I just called USCIS and Tier1 support said that they were working on Sept 3rd Cases..so hopefully we should hear something in about 1 month and half...if we don't hear anything then, i should be able to put in a service request
