Jimmy, I appreciate your optimism, but they have a better chance of selling shaving cream to the Taliban.

A little optimism goes a long way. And when we're at the 5 1/2 month average with no end in sight any optimism is appreciated.

It's worked for some people on VJ. such as this person who filed an expedite for "severe financial loss" based on losing ONE week of unpaid vacation time.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/326412-k1-visa-expedite-process-for-i-129f/

Or this person who had a circumstance more similar to mine.. an offer for an UNPAID fellowship.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/341968-expedite-for-a-job/

they were both approved for an expedite. So hopefully by wording the evidence into USCIS's criteria they will approve the request.

At this point anything is worth a try. Because if our petition is not approved by May or June I will be inclined to give up on the k1, move abroad, and file the spousal visa. My fiance and I cannot wait around forever for USCIS just to begin our lives together.

just updated the Vermont Service Center time to 5 months, does that mean we can put in our service requests earlier? we don't have to wait for 6 months to put in a service request?

Yeah, here's my theory on Vermont currently.. They appear to have processed about half of September's applications. It seems like they're holding off on October until they have the whole of September done. Still, I think October will be moving soon and I agree, hopefully we won't have to bother with service requests, at least for a little while longer

Good work October team!
