I am having some trouble with this question as to what to answer. Question 1 B states if I've ever been arrested, cited, charged, indicted, convicted, fined, or imprisoned for breaking or violating any law or ordinance, excluding traffic violations.

I was fined $100 for having open liquor outside of campgrounds about 9 years ago. I paid the fine and all is good. I'm not too sure if this falls under this category or not as it was a municipal fine. If I answer yes, would this be an issue with my AOS? Or should this be answered as no.

Anybody had a similar experience or can anybody help?

Thanks

Yes, you were fined. You need to answer YES. It's very simple. Just answer the question.

Yes. You were fined so that is one of the categories listed. I was fined for windsurfing without a life jacket - $10 - and had to include it plus the letter from the Court stating that there were no records on file (it happened in 1982). Each of the petitions and applications from here on get even more specific in their questions about any run in with the law, so include it now because it will come back to haunt you in the future if you don't. It won't have any impact on your application, except it might get you a smile from a commiserating immigration officer when he/she reads it in your file.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
