All,

My wife's interview @ the American Embassy Manila is November 5th. Finally - it feels like the end is neigh! As far as her medical is concerned, is St. Luke's Extension Clinic open on All Saints/Souls Day November 1st and 2nd?innocent.gif I was that we could do her medical exam then . . . If not then earlier in the week perhaps . . .

Thanks - Mark and Rassel!!innocent.gif

congratulations!

i highly doubt that the clinic would be open on the November 1st since holidays are taken very seriously in the Philippines and that would be one of the major ones. only hospitals are open (that i know of because i've worked in Philippine hospitals) but i highly doubt that the clinic would be. you might want to have your wife call just to make sure. :) good luck!

even if the clinic is open they wont have enough time to forward the results to the embassy just in time for your interview. i suggest that u do it a little early. maybe 2 weeks before ur interview. Congrats btw :)

It's advised to complete the medical exam two weeks prior to scheduled interview. So I suggest to do it on the 3rd week of this month. You'll be at risk if things don't turn out well during the exam and will delay the release of the visa.

Good luck!

My wife completed her medical in one day, then had her interview 9 days later. I think as long as you allow about a week between medical and interview date that will be more than adequate for St. Luke's to get the file to the embassy. I know of some that have done the two within the same week.

2 weeks prior to interview gives you a wide enough cushion should additional testing be required or if problems arise. Saint Lukes observes BOTH USA and Philippine Holidays by the way, the nursing staff and security guards confirmed this with us when I went to Saint Lukes with my fiancee. We ended up having to make special arrangements for a 1 Day exam process due to an unforseen observance of a Philippine Holiday, and our prepurchase of tickets flying out to Naga, which prevented us from making the 2nd day due to the scheduling conflict.

Good points all - thanks guys - I'll fly her to Manila and let her do it . . . I was wondering about the 'forwarding the results' remark . . . I was under the impression that on the second day, the SLEC will hand her the results in a -sealed- envelope. She will then hand that to the folks at the embassy. Has something changed, or was perhaps I'm confused in all my excitement!kicking.gif

Thanks Again!

The only docs your wife will have after a SUCCESSFUL medical exam is the vaccination records. The rest will be forwarded to the embassy by SLEC itself. She can finish it in one day if she started to fall inline at the clinic as early as 4am in the morning. GOODLUCK!
