A++++ to the above, at your interview, you want to bring originals of all what been sent with your package, I have been asked for manythings that I already sent earlier (tax, joint utilities, joint accounts, joint insurance, etc ), good luck in your interview.

Thanks..

Were you asked questions about the many documents, or you just need to show the documents?

Also, men should wear formal for the interview? with suite and tie?

I brought all the original documents to my interview but the IO only wanted to see my green card & passport. I was told to surrender my GC on my Oath Ceremony. good.gif

You don't need to wear a tie & suit during your interview. You can wear that on your Oath ceremony.

So the IO did not ask any question about or look at the documents? You just did the tests?

It depends...some IOs want to see documents, some do not. Make sure you have the documents with you, just in case. Tax transcripts, lease, utility bills, joint bank accounts, car insurance, health insurance, renter's insurance (with both of your names of course)...these all prove a marital union and are just some examples. If you have any kids together, birth certificates are obligatory. Do not assume that the IO is not going to ask for additional documents. Be prepared. ;)

Did you guys send utility bills and bank statements covering all three years or just 2012?

I have a few bills saved from applying for ROC, just the same stuff again, and I'm wondering if I should send it again. Doesn't make sense to me sending it all over again, we moved out of those apartments a year ago anyway. I would appreciate your advice. Thanks.

The IO & I went through my N-400 application. She asked if there is anything new or something that has changed since I send my application. When we came to the part about organizations I told her I forgot to include another one and that was it. She then proceeded to the tests part.

I only sent three bank statements (one for each year) for the last 3 years. It won't hurt if you send one utility bill for this year.

Dress up as best as you can. When you look better than the lawyers in the interview waiting room, you will be treated accordingly. :) Bring all of the docs the people above wrote about. Specifically do not forget the docs they requested in the yellow notice. Bring originals of all copied docs you submitted in the application.

I just had a N-400 interview based on 3-yr marriage. The officer for some reason specifically wanted to see the bank statements of our joint bank accounts. I had a bank letter confirming the joint accounts. However, he specifically asked for the statements. He also paid enormous attention to my tax returns for the past three years and took the original W-2s and the college loan tax statement.

Otherwise, he just asked about where my spouse worked, where I worked, how many times I was out of the country. Of course the usual civics and history questions (study the 100 question guide). Be prepared to attend the interview alone, as spouses are not allowed in (in my case).

Do not worry, be confident and good luck!
