Hi all,

I'm not sure if I am posting in the correct place... I have a specific question about Spain but I am not sure how to post in the Spain regional forum. Please feel free to move this post if need be!

My question is, where in Spain does my fiance get his vaccination records? He has lived in 3 different places, and as people in Spain know, it is very difficult with the "comunidades" to send information across comunidades. So first he was told he would need to go to his city of birth to get his vaccination records. This is a problem because he now lives on the other side of the country. Is there an office he can call, or are there some kind of online records? Where do medical offices in Spain keep this information? He has not had one specific doctor or hospital that he went to for all of his vaccinations...

Muchas gracias por vuesta colaboracion y ayuda!! Thank you all so much for your help!

I'm afraid they only started to do electronic vaccinations records 15 years ago; and that's in the comunidad autónoma that I live in, I can't guarantee what they do in other regions... Unfortunately what they did until that is handwritten records that they keep at the city health registers; thus, they don't share it between communities... in fact, the records don't normally even leave the building they are stored at! In the past I had to go (twice) to the Seguridad Social building in my city (birth city) and ask the officers there to take a few minutes of their lives and look for mine, because my doc didn't have access or a possible way to request/get them himself... I was lucky they found my records, since sometimes these are impossible to locate after so many years... they even gave the originals to me.

So yeah, your fiance can try and contact the SS register at his birth city (maybe a phone call?), but there's a good chance he'll need to go there himself and request them

Good luck! :star:

Moved topic from the K1 forum to the Europe regional forum as question is country-specific.

When I went to my doctor, I brought a list of the vaccines I needed for my medical with the civil surgeon in the US and she basically wrote me a doctor certificate stating that I had gotten all those vaccines. It's not a big deal as long as you explain the situation and your doctor is a nice one. I think I also brought my "cartilla de vacunaciones" from when I was little but it wasn't super necessary. So I guess it varies between your comunidad (I did in in Castilla La-Mancha) and how eager to help your doctor is.
